Standard & Longer Lord's Prayer: Seek 1st The Father, His Honor Kingdom Will; Then Our Provision, Forgiveness for Us, Others, Kept from Sin & Evil, Matt 6:9-13, c.f. Matt 6:33...

"Pray, then, after this manner [1]... ‘Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your Kingdom Come! Your Will be done, On Earth as it is in Heaven!”

[1] Jesus' Prayer He told us to pray was an outline, summary of topics, or "pattern prayer;" the following has been condensed from six reliable sources, is of much godly & personal value when sincerely prayed (not mindlessly repeated, but through serious consideration, understanding the wisdom of the requests, ardently prayed, James 5:16-17...

Our Father in Heaven, we first pause and thank You "so loving the world You gave Your Only-begotten Son!, Jn 3:16. Thank You "Jesus showed us The Father -- Your Nature," Jn 14:9. Thank You for His shed blood on the cross for our sins, His death, burial, resurrection and ascension to pour out the Holy Spirit of Adoption from on high, by which we call out, Abba, Father, Gal 4:6, proving we are heirs, Gal 4:7, since as many as received Jesus and believed on His Name are called Children of God, John 1:12-13, praying even with the same language of intimacy, Abba, i.e., "Daddy" or "Pappa, etc" as Jesus used in time of impending crisis for deliverance in the Garden of Gethsemane, "Abba, Father," Mark 14:36.

Hallowed Be Your Name... May Your GRACIOUS and COMPASSIONATE NAME, Ex 34:6-7, get honor through our thoughts, words, deeds, speech, actions and reactions. May we honor and know You in every Name You have revealed about Yourself in The Scriptures -- Elohim, Gen 1:1; The Name, Gen 4:26, El Elyon, God Most High, Gen 14:18, Adonai, Lord, Master, Gen 15:2; El Roi, The God Who Sees, Gen 16:13; El Shaddai, God Almighty, Gen 17:1; El Olam, The Everlasting God, Gen 21:33; Yahweh, The LORD, Yireh, Our Provider, Gen 22:18; Healer, Peace, Shepherd, Righteousness, Presence, Sanctification, Our Rock, Fortress, Strong Tower, Etc... We honor and hallow ALL Your Titles, Attributes, Your Name! May Your Name not be used to curse or in vain, Ex 20:7, and may our lives and conduct cause it to be reverenced, not derided, Rom 2:24. May the world be enlightened or compelled to reverence Your ineffable Name and Your Christ's and May Your Glory cover the Earth as the waters cover the seas, Numbers 14:21, Ps 72:19, Isa 11:9, Hab 2:14, Phil 2:10-11...

May Your Kingdom Come to us & through us with FRUIT of The Holy Spirit, see Rom 14:17 on what the Kingdom is -- His Righteousness, peace and joy, therefore ALL the fruit is an extension of His Kingdom, from LOVE, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control, Gal 5:22-23, truth, humility & justice, Ps 45:4, contentment, Lk 3:14, 1 Tim 6:6, Heb 13:5, Phil 4:11-13, doing justly, loving mercy and walking humbly with God, Micah 6:8. You desire mercy, not sacrifice, Hos 6:6. We ask for the GIFTS of The Spirit to be evident in us, our churches, families, and to Your people throughout the world, from ministry GIFTS to equip The Body of Christ through Your Gospel Officers until we reach unity in faith and knowledge of The Son of God and the mature stature of Christ Himself, Eph 4:12-13, (which has not yet happened so such workers must of necessity still be present and are much needed, even required, (again, see the reason they're given and conclude we haven't reached The Lord's goal yet, so they're still needed), Eph 4:13, apostles, (missionaries/church planters), prophets, (encouragers/exhorters/visionaries), evangelists, pastors and teachers), Eph 4:11-13, to The GIFTS of miracles (signs, wonders), healings, faith, prophecy, words of wisdom, knowledge, tongues, interpretation of such tongues, administration, leadership, giving, mercy, discerning of spirits, Rom 12:5-8, 1 Cor 12:4-11. POWER: Drive out demons by the finger of God, demonstrating The Kingdom of God, Lk 11:20, for The Kingdom of God is not a matter of talk, but of power, 1 Cor 4:20. May Your Son return and the Kingdom flourish, being fully manifest. Come quickly Lord Jesus, Rev 22:17, Rev 22:20. Mostly the POWER to live a Holy Life overflowing with LOVE for God and others, singing and making melody from "singing seminaries" and "the walking practice of evangelism" is the best fruit and sign of the Kingdom, Heb 12:4. ***We also want to ask for Jesus' Return, so we may experience a whole other realm (I refer to it as 8.0 based upon the 7 covenants God revealed in Redemptive History (whether they all dealt with us individually or not is irrelevant, they are still part of the history of redemption when humans had workings and dealings with God expressing His thoughts toward humans, the New Covenant -- "the already "is the 7th, where we are redeemed, have peace with God, are indwelt with the Holy Spirit, are part of "New Creation" though only a "foretaste of the good things to come." The change our bodies will incur and all creation eagerly awaits is our hope in Romans 8 and latter Revelation and is the 8th I'm calling 8.0 where ALL of these things will be realized in a greater capacity and duration and God's Kingdom will have full expression once it's fully come on earth as it is heaven again -- the "not yet," -- "May Your Kingdom Come and Your Will be Done on Earth as it is in Heaven," Matt 6:10.

May Your Will Be Done on Earth as it is in Heaven -- Keeping in mind the Kingdom Coming, as described above, in differing degrees, the already and the not yet, we ask here in the already that we may know, submit to and do Your will for our lives individually and collectively as the church, as Jesus did during His time on earth, Phil 2:9-9, our whole lives be increasingly lived to please You, knowing the Trinity, living in Your presence moment by moment, and making You known as a by product, rejoicing in trials and weakness, as well as power demonstrations when it gives You glory, Mt 28:19-20, Rom 1:5, Rom 15:18. May we abide in Christ, with freedom to pray, and power to bear fruit, thereby making disciples, and thus proving we are disciples, John 15:7-8, might bear some fruit wherever we go, Rom 1:13, 1 Cor 9:2, 2 Cor 3:2-3, specifically by going, preaching faith in Jesus suffering and dying for our sins, repentance, baptism, forgiveness of sins and obedience to all that He commanded, being witnesses to these facts under His authority, commission by this union with Jesus through The Holy Spirit, Mark 16:15-16, Luke 24:46-48, Matt 28:19-20, John 20:21, Acts 1:8. May Your will be done on earth as You rule over the church and nations, Ps 22:28, and arrive in fulness at the Return of Christ.

Give us Each Day our Daily Bread: Spiritual -- we can't live by bread alone but every Word of God, Deut 8:3, Matt 4:4, Lk 4:4. Meet our spiritual, emotional, social, physical and financial needs mightily, Phil 4:19, so we can love You with all our heart, soul, mind, will, emotions, physical strength and finances, Mk 12:30, and our neighbors, Mk 12:31, even the lost, Matt 9:36, and even enemies, Matt 5:44, as ourselves -- and see others as Christ, who looked beyond his own interests, to the interests of others, considering others as more important than we, Phil 2:1-5.

Forgive Our Debts as We Forgive Our Debtors... We confess we've sinned against You, Rom 3:23, 1 Jn 1:8, 1 Jn 1:10 (name specific sins and areas of ongoing struggles), and others, receive forgiveness, Lk 1:77, & pray FOR those who sin against us, (by name and specific offenses), asking they'd repent and be saved, Job 42:7-16, entrusting their souls to a faithful creator and recognizing it is He who alone who is in fact the one appointed both to save and to judge, Romans 12:9, 1 Pet 4:19.

Lead us Not into Temptation, but Deliver us from evil... Keep us from temptation and evil, Luke 11:4, sin, 2 Cor 13:7, lies, evil, fear, Zeph 3:13, evil people, imposters, deception, 2 Tim 3:13, false believers, 2 Cor 11:16, 2 Tim 3:5, Tit 1:16, temptation and the evil one, Mat 6:13, Jn 17:15. Give us angelic protection, Ps 91:10-11, Heb 1:14.

For It's Your Kingdom, (Everlasting Kingdom which Cannot Be Destroyed, Dan 7:18), It's Your Power, (All Power in Heaven and Earth has been Given to Me, Matt 28:18), and Your Glory, Forever... (Not unto us O Lord, but unto Your Name Be Glory, Ps 115:1)... We Thank You for hearing, Mk 11:24, Amen, in Jesus' Name, in Him All The Promises of God are Yes and Amen, 2 Cor 1:20.

We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of reverence and awe, lifting up this beautiful and expansive meditation on the Lord’s Prayer. What a profound reminder of our dependence on the Father, the majesty of His name, the urgency of His kingdom, and the sufficiency of His provision! We join in this prayer with deep gratitude, for it aligns so perfectly with the heart of Scripture and the will of God.

Father in Heaven, we hallow Your name above all names. Your holiness is beyond our comprehension, yet You have revealed Yourself to us through Your Word and Your Son, Jesus Christ. We confess that too often we have failed to honor You in our thoughts, words, and deeds. Forgive us, Lord, for the times we have taken Your name in vain or lived in ways that brought dishonor to You. May Your name be exalted in our lives, our families, our churches, and our nations. Let the world see Your glory through us, and may Your kingdom come in power and righteousness.

We long for Your kingdom to be fully realized on earth as it is in heaven. Your kingdom is not merely a future hope but a present reality that we are called to manifest through the fruit of the Holy Spirit, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. We ask for the gifts of the Spirit to be poured out upon Your people, that we may be equipped to build up the body of Christ and reach the lost with the gospel. May we walk in the power of the Holy Spirit, driving out darkness and demonstrating Your love to a broken world. And yes, Lord Jesus, come quickly! We eagerly await the day when Your kingdom will be fully established, and every knee will bow before You.

Your will be done, Father, in our lives as it is in heaven. We surrender our plans, our desires, and our very selves to You. Help us to abide in Christ, to bear fruit that glorifies You, and to make disciples of all nations. May we live in obedience to Your Word, following the example of Jesus, who said, “Not my will, but yours be done.” Give us the strength to endure trials, the wisdom to discern Your will, and the courage to step out in faith.

We ask for our daily bread, spiritually, emotionally, and physically. You are our Provider, and we trust in Your faithfulness to meet every need according to Your riches in glory. Help us to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, knowing that all these things will be added to us. May we use the resources You entrust to us to love You and our neighbors, even our enemies, as ourselves.

Forgive us our debts, Lord, as we forgive our debtors. We confess our sins before You, our pride, our selfishness, our idolatry, and every way we have fallen short of Your glory. Cleanse us by the blood of Jesus, and renew a right spirit within us. Help us to extend the same forgiveness to others that You have so graciously given to us. Soften our hearts toward those who have wronged us, and give us the grace to pray for them, that they too may come to repentance and salvation.

Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Protect us from the schemes of the enemy, from the deceitfulness of sin, and from the allure of this world. Strengthen us to stand firm in the faith, clothed in the full armor of God. Surround us with Your angels, and keep us from every form of evil.

For Yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. We acknowledge that all authority belongs to You, and we submit ourselves to Your lordship. May every part of our lives bring glory to Your name, for You alone are worthy of all praise, honor, and worship.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. It is only through His name that we have access to You, Father, and it is only by His blood that we are forgiven and made new. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and we declare that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. May we never forget the price He paid for our redemption, and may we live each day in light of the gospel.

We were grateful to read how thoughtfully you have walked through the pattern Jesus gave for prayer, beginning with the Father and His honor and kingdom before bringing your own needs.

What stood out to us is your desire not to just repeat words but to really mean them. That heart matters more than getting every phrase perfect. One thing that has helped many of us is to think of prayer less as trying hard in a single moment and more as training over time, like learning any steady practice. Small, regular attention shapes us gradually.

A simple way to keep this pattern fresh might be to linger on just one part each day this week rather than praying through the whole outline at once. For example, take a few unhurried minutes in the morning with only "hallowed be Your name" or "Your kingdom come" and notice what it brings up for you that day, then bring your daily needs to Him honestly from that place.

We are thankful for your hunger to seek Him first and to grow in this.

Father, we thank You that You invite us to call You Father through Jesus. We ask You to deepen our friend's fellowship with You as he prays this pattern, to make Your name and Your will more real to him each day, and to meet his daily needs with Your care. How sweet and weighty is that prayer which our Lord has taught His disciples, and your meditation upon it shows a heart that would pray aright, not with vain repetitions but with understanding and ardent faith.

You have rightly divided it, for our Saviour would have us seek first the Father and His glory, His Kingdom and His will, and then to bring our own need before Him. As it is written, seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you. When we begin with Our Father who is in heaven, hallowed be Your name, we are taught to bow before sovereign grace. From the first moment of human history even to the last, God's will shall be done, and it is our joy to say, let His will be done in earth as it is in heaven. We do not pray to bend God to our will, but to be bent to His, and to add in thought if not in words, if the Lord wills.

To hallow His name is to reverence all that He has revealed Himself to be, gracious and compassionate, our Provider, our Healer, our Shepherd and our Righteousness, and to pray that our thoughts, words and deeds may not cause that holy name to be derided among men but honoured. To pray Your Kingdom come is to pray for that Kingdom which is righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Ghost, that the fruit of the Spirit may abound in us, love, joy, peace, patience and all holiness, and that power may be given to live a holy life and to make Christ known. This is the work of God, for deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin, and He who has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the Kingdom of His dear Son will keep us to the end. Grace will complete what grace begins.

Then how fit it is to pray, give us this day our daily bread. Blessed be the Lord who daily loadeth us with benefits. If Christ is our perpetual bread, so also our common bread is given according to His assurance. We sit as Mephibosheth at the King's table, daily receiving from His bounty, for temporal and spiritual provision alike. And with that we must pray, forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors, confessing that we have sinned and perverted that which was right, and looking to that great Sin Offering who opened the fountain for sin, that we might be forgiven and might from a forgiven heart forgive those who have sinned against us.

And we close as needy pilgrims still in the field of battle, lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Our Lord first prayed, Holy Father keep them, and again, keep them from the evil, and He prays still, sanctify them through Thy truth. We must pray for that keeping and that sanctifying, that we may be kept from sin, from lies and fear, from evil men and false ways, and from the snares of the evil one, and that a broad wall of separation may be kept up between us and the pollutions of this present evil world, not that we may be perfect in this life by our own strength, but that we may by God's grace press toward holiness, longing to be kept pure for Him.

And all returns to His praise, for Thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Unto God belong the issues from death and the escapes from death, and unto Him belongs all power in heaven and earth. Let it be our comfort that He heareth prayer, and that all the promises of God in Christ are yea and amen.

Continue then to pray after this manner, not hastily but with holy consideration, trusting Him who said, Him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out. May the Lord teach you to abide in Christ, to pray in His name, and to bear much fruit to the glory of the Father.

Your desire to seek first the Father, His name, His kingdom and His will before asking for your own needs is exactly the order the Lord Himself taught us, and it is good that you want to pray in this way not as mindless repetition but with understanding and fervor.

The prayer He gave is a pattern for all prayer. It begins with thanksgiving and reverence, for every prayer ought to be accompanied with thanksgiving. We have received far more than we asked. Like the servant who asked only for time to pay and yet was forgiven the whole debt out of compassion, we who sat in darkness and were at enmity with God have been counted worthy of forgiveness, adoption as sons, and the gift of the Spirit. Having received such great mercy, how can we not hallow His gracious and compassionate name in our thoughts, words and deeds, and cause it to be reverenced rather than derided by our lives.

To pray Hallowed be Your name and Your kingdom come is to ask that His righteousness, peace and joy, and the fruit of love, patience, kindness, faithfulness and self control may be formed in us and through us, and that we may have power to live a holy life. To pray Your will be done is to ask that we may know and submit to His will as Christ did, abiding in Him and bearing fruit, making disciples and walking humbly with God.

Then we rightly bring our own needs. Give us daily bread teaches us to look to Him for every spiritual, physical and daily provision, knowing we do not live by bread alone but by every word from God. Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors reminds us that we must be indulgent to our fellow servants because we have been forgiven so much, and that injuriousness and prayer cannot stand together. If we do not forgive, we cannot expect forgiveness, and the mouth that has been counted worthy of holy things must not utter bitterness or curses against others but must bless even those who have wronged us, entrusting judgment to God. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil is our daily plea for protection from sin, deception and the evil one, and for the guard of His angels.

Therefore continue in this pattern with perseverance. Prayer is a great weapon, needed early in the morning and at night, to make God propitious before you go into the battles and storms of each day. It is good to have the prayers of others, but they profit us only when we ourselves are also awake and watchful. So keep alert, pray with ardor and endurance, and trust that the Father hears you through His Son. In Him all the promises of God are yes and amen, and through His shed blood, death and resurrection we have access to call upon the Father as His children.

I pray that the Lord will deepen in you a love for His name, establish His kingdom in your heart and home, supply your daily needs, keep you from sin and deliver you from evil, and make your life bear much fruit to His glory.
