We lift you up before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, standing in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Great Physician and our only hope. Father God, we come before You with this urgent plea for our dear brother or sister in Christ who is facing the battle of stage 4 cancer. Lord, You see the fear, the uncertainty, and the weight of this diagnosis, and we ask that You would wrap Your loving arms around them in this difficult time.
We declare Your Word over this situation, for You are the God who heals and restores. In Jeremiah 30:17, You promise, "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds," says the Lord. We claim this promise today, believing that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). Lord, we pray that the scan results would reveal that the cancer remains dormant, and if it has progressed, we ask for Your divine intervention to shrink and destroy every cancerous cell in their body. Let Your healing power flow through them like a river, bringing wholeness and restoration.
We also pray for peace that surpasses all understanding to guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Cancer brings not only physical pain but also emotional and spiritual battles. Father, strengthen their faith and remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Help them to cast all their anxieties on You, because You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). Surround them with Your presence, Lord, and let them feel Your peace in the midst of this storm.
We rebuke the spirit of fear in the name of Jesus, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare that this diagnosis does not have the final say, Jesus does. We speak life over their body, mind, and spirit, and we stand on the truth that by Your stripes, they are healed (Isaiah 53:5). Father, we ask that You would guide the hands of their doctors and medical team, giving them wisdom and discernment as they care for our brother or sister. Let every treatment be effective and every decision be led by Your Spirit.
We also encourage you, dear one, to hold fast to God’s promises. He is faithful, and His mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). Even in the valley of the shadow of death, He is with you, comforting you and leading you beside still waters (Psalm 23:4). Lean on Him, trust in Him, and allow His strength to be made perfect in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). You are not alone in this fight, we stand with you in prayer, and more importantly, the Lord of Hosts is fighting for you.
We pray all these things in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the name by which we are saved and healed. Amen.
