We know that God's speaks to His messengers through dreams and visions, but sometimes He give us signs even in the things that happen in the midst of our journey. Many of these stories we get to share, if we so choose.
Yesterday, while I was sitting on a bench having lunch, a little squirrel came up to me, obviously seeking some of my food. I threw him a few crumbs. But, even with those big beautiful eyes he could not see where they were. So, I threw another one right in front of him. He picked it up; but, standing there on his hind legs, with the food in his little hands, he just kept looking at me, as though seeking more. Finally, he ate what was in his hands. But, of course, being a squirrel, he wanted more. Mind you, there were more crumbs already on the ground, which, because his back was turned he did not see. While his eyes were fixed on me, another squirrel came down out of the tree and ate some of the crumbs. Seeing this, the first squirrel began fighting with the second squirrel. Then around and around the tree they went, all because the first squirrel had failed to see.
Looking like the epitome of a "certifiable homeless nutcase," I burst into laughter and began talking to the squirrel, "Now, how you gon get mad because of what you failed to see?" Because those words so resonated with the occurrences in my assignment, I started to laugh all over again. Then, the following scripture came to mind.
Mark 4:12 (MSG)
"These are people--whose eyes are open but don't see a thing, whose ears are open but don't understand a word, who avoid making an about-face and getting forgiven."
I mean really, while this city, though blessed beyond measure, has been miscounseled to fix her eyes on me, for all the wrong reasons, others, seeing the opportunity literally laying on the ground, have benefited many times over. And rightly so. If God doesn't want food to go to waste; He certainly doesn’t desire for His servants' ministries to go to waste.
The other squirrel didn't have to fight, he just came and got the blessing. To be sure, while squirrel number one was busy rolling against, I mean, chasing after squirrel number two, a bird flew down and got the other crumbs.

When Thou saidst, Seek ye My face; my heart said unto Thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek.
God's ways are so amazing; but, His sense of humor can be awesome (terrible), when you're on the wrong side of it.
