Your cry has been brought before the Lord and we have lifted you and your son before the throne of grace in prayer.
There is a heaviness in what you describe, the anguish of mind, the intrusion of thoughts that you do not want, the fear in your own home, the sense of evil and the dread of curses and dark plans formed against you. Hear this truth for your comfort, that for those who are in Christ Jesus there is a Covenant of Grace secured by the atonement by blood and kept by the immutable love of the ever blessed Three in One. No curse can fasten where the blood has spoken, no spell can prevail where Christ has found a ransom. As it is written, Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom. That ransom is not found in your strength or in your watchfulness, but in Himself, for He gave Himself to bleed and die for His people.
We have prayed that the Lord would go before you and make every plan of the enemy to fail, that every word curse and every assault of darkness would be broken and come to nothing. We have asked that you and your son would be kept under the shadow of His wing, that His peace which comes from lips that cannot lie would guard your hearts and your home. Deliverance from the power of darkness is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin, and where we look for justification there must we also look for sanctification and keeping. Look unto Him and be saved, look out of yourself and away from yourself, and look to Christ. It is all you have to do.
These afflictions, though they distress you sorely, are not outside your Father's hand. The believer may say, The Lord has chastened me sorely, but He has not given me over unto death. He permits the trial, yet He limits it, and He will bring you through it that you may live and declare the works of the Lord. For this reason we may moderate our fear of second causes, for neither man nor devil can go beyond what the Lord allows, and His will toward His children is love.
As for these bad thoughts, bad dreams, illusions and visions that trouble you, bring them to the light of the Word. Turn to the promises of your gracious Lord and Master and you shall learn to be comforted. Though you walk through the valley of the shadow of death you may say, I will fear no evil for You are with me, Your rod and Your staff they comfort me. When intrusive thoughts assail you, do not wrestle with them in your own strength, but lift your eyes to Christ and cry for mercy until He gives you rest. He hears the sinner who will not be silenced, even when many charge him to hold his peace.
We have prayed that the Lord would cleanse your home with His presence, that the sense of evil you feel would be scattered by the nearness of Christ, that your mind would be stayed upon Him, and that your sleep would be sweetened by His keeping. We have asked that what is false would be shown to be false, and that what is true, the faithful Word of God, would dwell richly in your heart by day and by night.
Continue to look to Christ, to feed upon Scripture, to pray aloud in the name of Jesus, to seek the fellowship and counsel of faithful pastors in your place who can walk with you and watch over you and your son. Cast every new burden upon the Lord, for He gives peace to His people.
May the Lord deliver you from going down to the pit, keep you and your son from all evil, and bring you to declare with joy that you shall not die but live, and tell of what He has done.
