Good and Faithful Servant
Please pray for an end to spiritual warfare that has targeted me since I was young. Please also pray for an end to vivid, disturbing dreams that I constantly have - which sometimes are related to the warfare and sometimes are not. Please also pray for me because I'm so overwhelmed and every five seconds, there's something else going on in my life between spiritual warfare attacking me and someone always wanting something from me - I just want to be left alone. Please pray for me to have a better schedule and to stop ending my nights so late. Please pray that God would lead me to new jobs - and possibly the ability to have at least two jobs, one primary and an extra one. I am considering staying now at the jobs I currently have. Please pray for wisdom for me about this and that all issues I have with these jobs would get better for me and my coworkers. Please pray for me to be set free from maladaptive daydreaming and inappropriate sexual thoughts which I keep giving in to especially while falling asleep - and which the enemy seems to be directly increasing temptation toward. The sexual thoughts are really becoming a serious problem in my life and I'm so ashamed. God set me free from sexual sin before. I'm so sad to be falling into it again. 💔 I think because I'm struggling with depression right now, I'm using those thoughts as an outlet. Please pray. Pray that the African American community would be set free from false teachings. Pray for my entire family as we all seem to have the flu - pray that no one caring for me in my sickness would be made sicker while trying to care for me. My dad who was the first one to get sick but was getting better now seems to be coughing a lot again. Please pray for three of my cats - two who were scratching themselves too hard and accidentally caused wounds and the other who was making a strange noise with his mouth the other night but seems fine now. Pray that all my cats would be and stay healthy. I have no money for a vet and don't even know of a good one in our area. We love our pets so much. Please pray that I would stay disciplined in eating according to a diet I have to eat on due to a medical condition. Please also pray for a close friend who has fibromyalgia, alpha thalassemia, blood pressure problems, prostate concerns and asthma. Thank you.

We hear your cry for help, and we stand with you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we have access to the Father and the only name by which we can be saved. We recognize the weight of spiritual warfare you’ve endured, the exhaustion of constant demands, and the deep shame over sin that the enemy uses to keep you bound. But take heart, Jesus came to set the captives free, and His power is greater than any attack of the enemy.

First, we rebuke every assignment of the enemy against you in Jesus’ name. The vivid, disturbing dreams, the relentless temptations, and the overwhelming sense of being under siege are not from God. Scripture declares, "For though we walk in the flesh, we don’t wage war according to the flesh; for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds" (2 Corinthians 10:3-4). We command every spirit of fear, torment, and sexual temptation to flee from you now. You are not alone in this battle, "The Lord will go forth like a mighty man. He will stir up zeal like a man of war. He will cry out, yes, he will shout aloud. He will prevail against his enemies" (Isaiah 42:13). We pray that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, would guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

We also address the sin of sexual temptation and maladaptive daydreaming with truth and compassion. You are right to feel conviction, for God’s Word is clear: "Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body" (1 Corinthians 6:18). But shame is not from God, it is a tool of the enemy to keep you isolated. Jesus bore your shame on the cross, and He offers forgiveness and restoration. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). We pray that the Holy Spirit would fill you with His power to resist temptation, and that you would find healthy, godly outlets for your emotions rather than turning to sin. Depression is real, but it does not have to dictate your actions. "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13).

We lift up your physical and emotional exhaustion, praying for God’s wisdom in managing your schedule and for His provision in your work. "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). We ask the Lord to open doors for new job opportunities, whether one primary job or an additional one, that would bring stability and peace. We also pray for favor with your coworkers and resolution to any conflicts or frustrations you’re facing. "Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in him, and he will do this" (Psalm 37:5).

For your family battling illness, we pray for complete healing and protection. "Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord" (James 5:14). We declare that no one caring for you would be made sicker, and we ask God to strengthen your father’s recovery. For your beloved cats, we pray for healing of their wounds and continued health, trusting that God cares even for the animals He has entrusted to you. "Are not five sparrows sold for two assaria coins? Not one of them is forgotten by God" (Luke 12:6).

We also lift up your friend with fibromyalgia, thalassemia, and other health struggles, praying for God’s healing touch and comfort. "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds" (Psalm 147:3). For the African American community, we pray for discernment and a return to the truth of God’s Word, that false teachings would be exposed and that hearts would be drawn to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Now, we pray together with you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name. We thank You that You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Lord, we lift up our brother/sister to You, who is weary from spiritual warfare, overwhelmed by life’s demands, and struggling with sin. We rebuke every assignment of the enemy against them, every disturbing dream, every tempting thought, every lie that seeks to isolate them. We declare that they are more than conquerors through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37).

Father, we ask for Your peace to flood their heart and mind. Give them rest from the constant barrage of demands and the wisdom to manage their time in a way that honors You. Provide new job opportunities that bring stability and fulfillment, and heal any tensions or frustrations at their current workplace. Lord, we also ask for Your healing touch over their family battling illness, and we declare that no one caring for them would be made sicker. Heal their father’s cough and restore him to full health.

We pray for freedom from sexual sin and maladaptive daydreaming. Holy Spirit, fill them with Your power to resist temptation and replace unhealthy habits with godly ones. Remind them of Your forgiveness and love, and break the chains of shame that the enemy uses to keep them bound. Help them to flee from sin and draw near to You, for You promise that if we draw near to You, You will draw near to us (James 4:8).

Lord, we also lift up their friend with chronic illnesses, asking for Your healing and comfort. Strengthen them physically and emotionally, and surround them with Your peace. For the African American community, we pray for a revival of truth, that hearts would be turned to You and false teachings would be exposed.

Finally, Father, we ask for Your provision for their pets’ health and for discipline in their diet. Meet every need according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). We trust You, Lord, and we declare that this battle is not theirs alone, You are fighting for them. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

We can hear how exhausted and frayed you feel, when the attacks seem relentless, and every direction someone needs something from you, even good steps forward feel heavy. With all that coming at once, it’s no surprise that old struggles with lust would surface again, especially when you’re already running on empty. Shame thrives in isolation, but you’re not ruined; you’re worn down, and that matters.

One small, practical anchor that could help more than you expect: decide tonight what time you’ll put everything down and begin a brief wind‑down, no screens, just settling your space and your mind. When the intrusive thoughts come as you fall asleep, try simply handing them to Jesus in a few quiet words (“Lord, I’m Yours; take my mind”) instead of wrestling them yourself. You’re not fighting for victory, you’re resting in the victory He already won. That small boundary around your sleep could give your body and mind enough margin that the depression doesn’t have such an easy foothold.

You don’t need to sort out all the job questions at once. Wisdom often comes as we take the next right step, not by trying to see the whole road in advance. And with the depression tagging along, even just showing up is real effort, go easy on yourself for that.

We’re praying with you now:

Jesus, we ask You to silence the warfare that has dogged our friend since childhood. Quiet the disturbing dreams and bring peaceful sleep. Give wisdom about the jobs, and smooth the daily friction with coworkers. Break the power of maladaptive daydreaming and sexual thoughts that return in moments of exhaustion, restore the freedom You gave before, and lift the depression that makes these temptations feel like an escape. Guard our friend’s schedule so rest comes earlier. Heal the family from the flu, protect the cats, and give our friend the discipline to follow the needed diet without it becoming one more weight. Touch their close friend’s body, fibromyalgia, thalassemia, blood pressure, prostate, and asthma, and bring relieving care. We trust You to meet each need according to Your perfect love. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The enemy marks your place of sorrow, and where the sin has been, there he sends his suggestion. This arrow is often shot, and you feel it keenly. Yet when you have made confession of sin, have you not been restored? Has He not lifted up the light of His countenance upon you? You say, “I must say He has.” Go, then, and sin no more. That deliverance from sin is solely by the power of God, it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God that shows mercy. Unless a supernatural power is put forth, any form of deliverance is worth nothing. You must be born again from above if you are to go above.

The Lord has chastened you sorely, but He has not given you over unto death. Mark well the difference between chastisement and punishment. Our Father’s anger with our sin will never blaze into wrath against us, though in mercy He will smite our sins. Unbroken prosperity and undisturbed health, these might be signs of being given over unto death, where sin is committed without pangs of conscience. Your distress, your shame, your depression are themselves evidence that He has not abandoned you. The soul sensible of sin, when it throws itself upon that Sacrifice of the Cross, finds sin pardoned. And because the sin is pardoned, the forgiven sinner is grateful and says, “I will not go on in this sin.” Another passion has sucked up your life, let it be Christ’s.

Tenderness to sin will always check any great growth in grace. We pamper self-indulgence, cultivate our own ease, make provision for the flesh, and then wonder that the bow is not used more. The viper’s brood should be crushed in the nest. When sin catches us, at first it is with the tiniest spider’s cobwebs that seem easily broken. But if we hear the voice of sin, it tells us there is a judgment to come. Deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from its guilt. Where we look for justification, there must we look for sanctification. If you can sometimes go into sin just by way of pleasure, it proves you are a stranger to the deliverance Christ gives His regenerated people.

Yet take heart. I have found a ransom. This deliverance came when the Lamb was slain. Pharaoh held Israel captive, but he could not go beyond a certain point. So the evil one may harass you with disturbing dreams and constant demands, but his chain is held by a stronger hand. The archers of discord, the overwhelming weight of every five seconds bringing some new trouble, these are the arrows of the enemy, but God has arrows of deliverance too. He will so work that afterward this deliverance will be spoken of with praise. Even in the last days, the memory of such mercies will not be forgotten. The Lord looks from heaven upon the prisoners groaning under conviction of sin, appointed to death in their own conscience, and in due time He comes to their deliverance.

Therefore, you saved one, hasten to the armory. Array yourself in the panoply, grasp the sword. You are called by Christ to a holy warfare. Every single individual must take his portion in this sacred fight, this grand crusade against sin. If you are saved, you must seek to save others. As for your body’s weakness, your family’s flu, your beloved animals, cast all these cares upon Him who hears the groaning of the prisoner. Your diet, your schedule, your work decisions, even the false teachings that ensnare a community, He is not indifferent. What does man gain by being in a desponding, sorrowful condition? By the Spirit’s work he gains a clearer knowledge of the evil of sin.

Your conduct now, after such trouble and deliverance as you have tasted, must be declaration. “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.” If we had no troubles, we would have less to declare. Go speak to the winds no longer of your griefs as if God’s ear were shut. The ministry He sends, though it warns the ungodly, is a consolation to those sorrowing over sin and seeking Divine deliverance. You are not given over unto death. You are chastened, yes, but the Father does not give what the law demands as punishment, He gives what will cure the wrong-doing by making you feel that sin brings sorrow. And this sorrow, fixed upon Christ’s death for sin, works in you a death to sin. Sin’s condemning power is broken, and sin’s charm is drained of its allure. Look to Jesus simply, trust Him, and the deliverance will be effectual in every deed. He will bring you forth from the iron furnace of fear into the liberty wherewith Christ makes free.

The shame you feel is not itself an evil; it is the soul’s last healthy revulsion before sickness becomes death. A man possessed by a demon and recovered walks with downcast eyes, abashed, unable to look another in the face. We rightly pity and admire such a person struggling against a foreign tyranny. Yet you, by clinging to these sexual imaginings as you fall asleep, bring upon yourself a self-chosen madness, making your mind a sewer for fantasies, and then wonder why the enemy finds such easy entry. Sin is more grievous than a demon, for the demon made its victim humble and ashamed after the attack, but sin makes you worse: it instills a venom, a habit, that remains long after the act. You are not merely suffering warfare; you are, in those drowsy moments, laying down your arms and inviting the besieger in for a feast. Cease using your depression as a license. Outlets sought in darkness deepen the pit.

You ask for the warfare to end, yet the Apostle tells us we have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin. Sin itself is armed and vigorous, and standing firm means we expect the blows. These vivid, disturbing dreams, this relentless pressure, the feeling that every five seconds someone demands something from you, all this is the smoke of a real battle. Why should you be left alone? Christ did not seek to be left alone; He chose an ignominious death, despising the shame, to teach us to make no account of comfort or the ease of being undisturbed. Your wish to be left alone is a request to be discharged from the very field where crowns are won. Will you be a soldier only when the camp is quiet? The disturbance, the constant demands, the late nights, the impossible schedule, these are not obstacles to your holiness; they are its raw material.

Regarding your jobs and the need for wisdom, do not mistake the multitude of your anxieties for a sign that you must flee. The gentlewoman who thinks it a shame to go forth with only two servants, who needs a crowd to feel her worth, is a slave to pride. Contentment with few things and the ability to bear pressure without crumbling, this is true dignity. If the Lord has placed you in these current jobs, the immediate task is not always to find new ones but to stand nobly where you are, bearing the irritations with your coworkers, praying for them rather than resenting them. Let your boldness be this: that whether in an easy schedule or an exhausting one, Christ is magnified.

For the sickness in your household and the wounds of your pets, offer these small anxieties up as an alms of trust, refusing to let them become a pretext for the larger surrender of your mind to old sins. As for the African American community and false teachings, this is a burden you rightly carry, but its first battlefield is your own heart. You cannot fight the flame of error abroad while your own house is burning with conceded lust.

The cure for the shame that now cripples you is not to hide the sin, for I shrink not from proclaiming even David’s adultery with a loud voice; hiding the history throws the man’s virtue into shade and makes the medicine impossible. Magnify the sin in honest confession, that the medicine of grace may be seen as all the more abundant. The sick man who regains health still dares not drink cold water; the fever has left its mark. Your soul, too, is weakened by each relapse, and the memory of past freedom only makes the present chains more bitter. Yet here is the door: Christ endured the cross, despising the shame, not the pain. It was the shame He trampled down. Your sexual thoughts breed in the dark because they rely on your horror of being discovered. Despise that shame. Speak the ugly truth plainly to God and to one trusted, mature believer. Do this, and the enemy’s grip, which thickens in secrecy, will begin to dissolve.

We will pray for you, for your family’s recovery, for your cats, for your friend’s manifold afflictions, and for wisdom in your labor. But I charge you: cease saying you are a victim of your dreams when you willingly stock the arsenal before sleep. The prayer for an end to warfare is only answered in those who first end their treaty with the foe.

I hear the weight of what you are carrying, and I want to speak directly to the heart of it. What you are describing is not simply a string of bad circumstances or personal failures. You are in the thick of a very real spiritual battle. The Scriptures remind us that our struggle is not ultimately against flesh and blood. The relentless pressure, the disturbing dreams, the sudden waves of temptation, these are not just your own mind turning on you. They are often the residual effects of a war being waged in the unseen realm. The enemy seeks to wear you down, to isolate you, and to make you believe you are powerless.

But you are not powerless. For a spiritual war, God has given spiritual weapons that are mighty through Him. The first and most vital is the Word of God. When the enemy flooded the Lord with twisted suggestions in the wilderness, the answer was always the same: “It is written.” The truth of Scripture held up against the lie breaks its power. This is where the battle for your mind is won or lost. Those sexual thoughts that flood in as you fall asleep, the daydreaming that pulls you away from reality, those are not merely habits; they are footholds. You cannot simply wait for them to go away. You must actively, verbally, and deliberately bring the truth against them. Declare who you are in Christ: dead to sin, alive to God. Your old life was buried with Him, and you have been raised into a new kind of life, a life governed by the Spirit. The pull of the flesh will always be there, but you do not have to yield. Each time you choose not to walk in the flesh, you enforce the victory Christ has already won.

The shame you feel is a weight the enemy wants you to carry alone. Do not hide in it. The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death. When the light of His life comes in, it does not merely push the darkness aside, it expels it. This is not about white-knuckling your way to purity. It is about turning from the emptiness that the flesh promises and letting the Spirit fill that deep void. You mentioned the depression feels like a reason you are giving in as an outlet. That is exactly the lie: the suggestion that you can find life, relief, or fulfillment by taking a shortcut apart from the cross, apart from denying yourself. It is a mirage. The only lasting satisfaction comes when your life is hid with Christ in God. He is your life. Seek Him there, seated in the place of authority, and the false comforts will begin to lose their pull.

The feeling of being perpetually overwhelmed, every five seconds someone wanting something, the late nights, the job questions, is also part of this. You are living in a body and a world that will constantly irritate and cross-current you. That is simply life on this plane. But you have access to a different plane. You are a three-part being: body, soul, and spirit. To try and manage this chaos on human strength alone leads to exhaustion and a sense of meaninglessness. The spiritual dimension must take the lead. Practical wisdom about your schedule and your jobs is needed, and God gives that. If we are going to one day judge angels, surely we can entrust to Him the smaller matters of this life. Lay those decisions before Him in prayer, not just a quick list, but the kind of praying that is a weapon. Praying with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit. That is often the deciding factor in the battle. Ask Him to order your days and give clear direction about the jobs. He cares about those details.

For the sickness in your family, the concern for your cats, the relentless demands, and the war against your mind, the answer is not to retreat into being left alone forever, but to retreat into the One who is your life. He walked through every human frailty and pressure, and He is not distant now. He gives life to your mortal body by the same Spirit that raised Him from the dead. So do not look at your failing strength; look at His endless supply. As you pray for your friend and for the community, remember that the greatest need for every person is to step out of the kingdom of darkness and into the kingdom of light and life. True freedom is found there.

You are not fighting for victory; you are fighting from the victory Christ has already secured. Stand in that. The weapons are in your hands: His Word, faith in His finished work, and prayer that commands the spiritual realm. When the pressure comes, do not react in the flesh. Let your life testify to what you believe. May the Spirit so govern your heart that you walk in love, in purity, and in the peace that passes understanding, even while the battle rages on.
