Faithful Servant
Please pray for an end to spiritual warfare that has targeted me since I was young. Please also pray for an end to vivid, disturbing dreams that I constantly have - which sometimes are related to the warfare and sometimes are not. Please also pray for me because I'm so overwhelmed and every five seconds, there's something else going on in my life between spiritual warfare attacking me and someone always wanting something from me - I just want to be left alone. Please pray for me to have a better schedule and to stop ending my nights so late. Please pray that God would lead me to new jobs - and possibly the ability to have at least two jobs, one primary and an extra one. I am considering staying now at the jobs I currently have. Please pray for wisdom for me about this and that all issues I have with these jobs would get better for me and my coworkers. Please pray for me to be set free from maladaptive daydreaming and inappropriate sexual thoughts which I keep giving in to especially while falling asleep - and which the enemy seems to be directly increasing temptation toward. The sexual thoughts are really becoming a serious problem in my life and I'm so ashamed. God set me free from sexual sin before. I'm so sad to be falling into it again. 💔 I think because I'm struggling with depression right now, I'm using those thoughts as an outlet. Please pray. Pray that the African American community would be set free from false teachings. Pray for my entire family as we all seem to have the flu - pray that no one caring for me in my sickness would be made sicker while trying to care for me. My dad who was the first one to get sick but was getting better now seems to be coughing a lot again. Please pray for three of my cats - two who were scratching themselves too hard and accidentally caused wounds and the other who was making a strange noise with his mouth the other night but seems fine now. Pray that all my cats would be and stay healthy. I have no money for a vet and don't even know of a good one in our area. We love our pets so much. Please pray that I would stay disciplined in eating according to a diet I have to eat on due to a medical condition. Thank you.

We stand with you in this intense spiritual battle, lifting every burden before the throne of grace. The enemy seeks to wear you down with relentless attacks, disturbing dreams, overwhelming demands, and temptations that bring shame, but we declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). The Lord is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We rebuke every assignment of the enemy over your life, your mind, and your sleep in the mighty name of Jesus. Every spirit of fear, torment, and lust is bound and cast out now. You are not alone in this fight; the Lord of Hosts goes before you, and the angels of God encamp around you (Psalm 34:7).

We pray for the chains of maladaptive daydreaming and sexual sin to be broken completely. The enemy preys on weakness, but God’s strength is made perfect in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Confess these struggles to the Lord, for He is faithful and just to forgive and cleanse you from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7). Fill your mind with whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable, think on these things (Philippians 4:8). We pray for accountability and godly fellowship to help you walk in freedom. The blood of Jesus has already paid for your victory; stand firm in it.

For your schedule and work, we ask the Lord to grant you wisdom and clarity. Seek Him first, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). If it is His will for you to take on additional work, He will open the right doors and provide the strength. But we also pray for boundaries, may the Lord shield you from those who drain your time and energy, and may He give you moments of rest and peace. Your worth is not found in what you do for others but in who you are in Christ.

We lift up your family, praying for complete healing from the flu and protection for those caring for you. May the Lord rebuke this sickness and restore health to your father and all who are ill (Psalm 103:3). For your precious cats, we ask the Great Physician to heal their wounds and keep them in good health. The Lord cares even for the sparrows, and you are of far more value to Him (Matthew 10:29-31). Trust Him to provide for their needs.

For your diet and discipline, we pray for self-control, a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). The Lord will sustain you and strengthen you as you honor Him with your body (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). And for the African American community, we pray for discernment and a hunger for God’s truth. May false teachings be exposed, and may hearts turn to the unchanging Word of God.

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister, declaring Your sovereignty over every area of their life. Break every chain of spiritual warfare, silence every lying voice, and flood their heart with Your peace. Deliver them from temptation, heal their family, provide for their needs, and restore their joy. May they find rest in You alone, for You are their strong tower (Proverbs 18:10). We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we are saved and set free. Amen.

You’ve got so many heavy things pressing in at once, and we hear the exhaustion in your words. It’s not weakness to feel overwhelmed when spiritual attack meets physical sickness, shame, and constant demands all at the same time. The fact that you care this deeply, about your family, your cats, your struggle, even the wider church, shows God is still very much at work in your heart.

What seems to weigh on you most personally is the return of sexual temptation and the loss of ground you once felt you’d gained. Depression can make those thoughts feel like the only escape that works, but they only leave you more ashamed and weary. One practical thing that often helps is to bring that battle out of the dark: find one safe, mature believer you trust and be honest aloud about what’s happening. The enemy thrives on secrecy. You might also try getting up and moving when the thoughts come at bedtime, even if it’s just to stand and whisper a psalm or a simple “Jesus, have mercy” until the wave passes. You don’t have to fight this by sheer willpower, and you aren’t beyond His reach.

About the job decision and schedule, sometimes peace comes when we stop spinning and just pick a direction, trusting God to correct our course. Could you set one small, non-negotiable wind-down time in the evenings this week, even if only fifteen minutes earlier than now, and guard it as a start? Little changes like that can break the cycle of ending late.

Lord Jesus, we lift our friend up to You. Quiet the spiritual assault that has hounded them since childhood. Guard their sleep and replace disturbing dreams with Your peace. Break the pull of shameful thoughts, and in this low season, be their strength when they have none. Heal their dad and whole household from this flu, and heal their cats’ wounds. Give wisdom about the jobs, and open the right doors in Your timing. For the diet, grant steady discipline. And for the heavy weight of depression, surround them with the kindness of Your presence and the right help. In Your name, amen.

It has been from your youth, this warfare, and now you are so worn down by the din of it that you want only to be left alone. The enemy has kept the pressure steady, and on top of it all the dreams come, and on top of that the thoughts, and you are ashamed of the thoughts most of all. You must not think you are the only saint who ever groaned under this very thing. A man far holier than either of us once cried out, “O wretched man that I am!”, and he was not speaking of his life before conversion, but of the struggle he knew as an apostle. In the members there is a law of sin, and it does not die until the body itself goes into the ground. The viper, as it were, is still coiled about the heart of a child of God. I do not tell you this to make you comfortable with sin, I know you hate it, but to keep you from the deeper wound of despair. The fact that the sin is there does not prove you are not the Lord’s; the fact that you fight against it, and mourn over it, and flee to Christ because of it, shows the life of God in your soul.

You say the temptation increases as you are falling asleep, when your will is drowsy and your guard is down. I know that hour. The enemy picks the lock when the watchman is nodding. And you are fighting depression at the same time, so the soul reaches for a dark comfort, an outlet, as you put it. But you have not forgotten what it was to be clean. You remember the freedom God once gave you; you are not content to lie in the mire. That is well. A man who has truly tasted of Christ’s pardon can never swallow sin with a satisfied appetite. The full soul may loathe the honeycomb, but to the hungry soul even bitter things are sweet, and when the soul is starved of joy, it will grasp at any husk. The healing will not come by whipping yourself harder, but by bringing your empty heart to Jesus for the bread of life. Before you close your eyes, commend your sleeping hours to Him who neither slumbers nor sleeps. Quietly, deliberately, put your mind on some sweet promise of Scripture; let it be the last thing you taste, and if the unclean thought returns, do not argue with it, lift your heart in a brief cry and turn your mind away, as a man turns from a foul ditch.

And your nights are late, and your days are full of demands, and every five minutes someone wants something from you. That is a heavy yoke. No wonder you are overwhelmed. The Lord does not promise to take away every burden, but He does promise, “I will strengthen you.” Notice He does not say, “I will make you strong in yourself,” but “I will strengthen you in the Lord.” The strength is in another. A man may be weak as a babe in his own frame, yet upheld by a father’s hand he walks safely through the dark. You are not asked to manufacture peace or to fight the warfare in your own energy. The peace Jesus gives is His own legacy: peace with God through the blood of the cross, and then peace in the conscience, the publication of that treaty. When the wind is still in heaven, the sea grows calm below. Go back again and again to the solid ground of your acceptance in Christ. It does not rest on your frames or your success in resisting sin, but on His finished work.

The cats and the flu and the job decisions are all real cares, and He numbers them. He who watches the sparrows sees your cats too, for He gave you a heart to love them. The enemy would tell you these smaller anxieties are trivial, but the Lord knows our frame; He is not a high priest who cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities. Your father’s cough, your need for a better schedule, the desire for two jobs, you may spread them all out before the throne. You will not weary Him. The Lord who said to the wind and waves, “Peace, be still,” can order the smallest details of your life.

One thing more: you are ashamed of falling again. But remember that David fell foully, and yet he was restored. Job, after all his long speeches defending himself, at last saw the Lord and cried, “I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.” And that was not the end of him, the Lord turned his captivity and blessed his latter end more than his beginning. So bring your shame to the cross. Jesus did not shed His blood for imaginary sins, but for real ones, foul ones, repeated ones. He is able to save to the uttermost. Do not let the enemy persuade you that you have gone beyond the reach of that long arm.

Let us pray.

Lord Jesus, look upon this weary one. You know what it is to be assailed; You were led into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. Come now and speak peace to this troubled heart. Break the power of foul and disturbing dreams, and set a guard over the sleeping mind. Grant repentance and full cleansing where sin has crept in, and restore the joy of Your salvation. Lift off the weight of depression, and be the lifter of this head. Order the days and the nights; open or close the doors of employment as You see best, and give wisdom. Touch the bodies of this whole family with healing, and as You care for all creatures, we ask Your blessing on these beloved pets. And in every pang of spiritual warfare, hide this soul in the cleft of the rock until the calamities be overpast. Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory, now and forever. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We are so grateful you entrusted us with the weight of your heart and allowed us to stand beside you in prayer these past days. The battle you described—spiritual warfare since childhood, relentless dreams, the crush of demands, and the fierce struggle with temptation—is real, and we have lifted every detail before our Father, asking Him to break every chain and quiet every storm.

If the Lord has already moved in answer to these prayers—if the dreams have stilled, if the oppression has lifted, if peace has begun to replace the overwhelm—we rejoice with you! Please share a praise report so we can celebrate His faithfulness together. If the battle still rages, know we are not stepping away. We will continue to intercede, asking God to surround you with His presence, to grant you wisdom in your work, to heal your family and your precious cats, and to strengthen your discipline in every area of life. We pray especially for freedom from the shame and bondage of sin, remembering how He has delivered you before and trusting He will do so again.

We ask the Lord to open doors for new opportunities—jobs that bring provision and peace, schedules that honor your rest, and relationships that refresh rather than drain. May He silence the lies of the enemy and fill your mind with truth, your heart with hope, and your home with healing. We stand with you, believing that the same God who parted the Red Sea is fighting for you now.

Keep seeking Him. Keep trusting Him. And know we will keep praying until every prayer is answered. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
