Spiritual warfare

Dhitlor

Humble Servant of All
Please pray for an end to spiritual warfare that has targeted me since I was young. Please also pray for an end to vivid, disturbing dreams that I constantly have - which sometimes are related to the warfare and sometimes are not. Pray that I would stop struggling with maladaptive daydreaming and sexual thoughts especially before sleeping. This has really become a big problem in recent months (especially the sexual thoughts) and it's become involuntary now. Thank you.

We stand with you in this intense spiritual battle, lifting you up before the throne of grace where mercy and help are found in time of need. The Word of God declares that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, and against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). This warfare you have endured since childhood is not of God, and we take authority over it in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the only name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12).

First, we must address the foundation of your faith. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10:9-10). There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). It is through Jesus Christ alone that we have access to the Father and the power to overcome the enemy.

Now, we rebuke the spiritual warfare that has targeted you. The enemy comes only to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you may have life, and have it more abundantly (John 10:10). We command every assignment of the enemy against your life, mind, and spirit to be broken and dismantled in the name of Jesus. The blood of Jesus speaks better things than the blood of Abel (Hebrews 12:24), and we plead the blood of Jesus over your mind, your dreams, and your spirit. No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Him (Isaiah 54:17).

We also take authority over the vivid and disturbing dreams that plague you. God speaks to His people through dreams, but the enemy seeks to torment and confuse. We command every unclean spirit influencing your dreams to be bound and cast out in the name of Jesus. You will lie down and not be afraid; yes, you will lie down, and your sleep will be sweet (Proverbs 3:24). We pray that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

Regarding the struggle with maladaptive daydreaming and sexual thoughts, we must address this with both truth and compassion. The enemy seeks to ensnare you in sin, but God calls you to purity. Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). These thoughts have become involuntary, but we declare that through the power of the Holy Spirit, you can take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5).

We encourage you to fill your mind with the Word of God. How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to Your word. I have hidden Your word in my heart that I might not sin against You (Psalm 119:9, 11). Meditate on Scripture day and night, and do not give the enemy a foothold. Resist him, standing firm in the faith (1 Peter 5:9). When these thoughts arise, replace them immediately with prayer, worship, or Scripture. Do not entertain them, for the enemy seeks to gain a stronghold in your mind.

We also pray for accountability and fellowship. Do not isolate yourself, for the enemy seeks to devour those who are alone. But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin (1 John 1:7). Seek out a trusted brother or sister in Christ who can pray with you and hold you accountable. Confess your struggles to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective (James 5:16).

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our brother/sister who is enduring intense spiritual warfare and torment. Lord, we thank You that You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, they shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).

Father, we plead the blood of Jesus over their mind, their dreams, and their spirit. We command every unclean spirit influencing their dreams to be bound and cast out in the name of Jesus. We pray that You would fill their mind with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Lord, we ask that You would give them sweet sleep and peaceful rest, free from the torment of the enemy.

We rebuke the spirit of lust and impurity that seeks to ensnare them. Father, we ask that You would strengthen them by the power of Your Holy Spirit to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). Help them to flee sexual immorality and to glorify You in their body and spirit (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). Fill their mind with Your Word, that they may not sin against You (Psalm 119:11).

Lord, we pray for accountability and fellowship in their life. Surround them with godly men/women who can pray with them, encourage them, and hold them accountable. Help them to walk in the light and have fellowship with one another, that the blood of Jesus may cleanse them from all sin (1 John 1:7).

We declare that the enemy has no place in their life, no power over them, and no claim on them. They are more than conquerors through Him who loved them (Romans 8:37). We thank You, Father, that You who began a good work in them will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:6). We pray all these things in the powerful and mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Continue to stand firm in your faith, putting on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand (Ephesians 6:11-13).

You are not alone in this battle. The Lord is your light and your salvation—whom shall you fear? The Lord is the stronghold of your life—of whom shall you be afraid? (Psalm 27:1). Stand firm, resist the enemy, and draw near to God, and He will draw near to you (James 4:7-8).

We're here with you, dear friend, in this tough spiritual fight. We know it's been a long, hard battle since your younger days, and it's taken a toll on you. Those vivid, disturbing dreams and unwanted thoughts have been a heavy burden to bear. But remember, you're not alone in this. We're praying for you, and we're claiming God's promises over your life.

First, let's remind ourselves of who we are in Christ. We are children of the King, saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. No matter what the enemy throws at us, we know that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). So, let's stand firm in that truth.

Now, let's address those dreams. We command every unclean spirit influencing your dreams to be bound and cast out in Jesus' name. We declare that you will lie down and sleep peacefully, knowing that the Lord is your protector (Psalm 4:8). We ask the Holy Spirit to fill your mind with His peace, guarding your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

As for those unwanted thoughts, we know they've become involuntary, but we declare that through the power of the Holy Spirit, you can take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). We encourage you to fill your mind with God's Word, meditating on it day and night. When these thoughts come, replace them immediately with prayer, worship, or Scripture. Don't entertain them, for the enemy seeks to gain a stronghold in your mind.

We also encourage you to find accountability and fellowship. Don't isolate yourself, for the enemy loves to devour those who are alone. Seek out a trusted brother or sister in Christ who can pray with you, encourage you, and hold you accountable. Confess your struggles to one another and pray for each other, that you may be healed (James 5:16).

Let's pray together:

Father, we come before You in Jesus' name. We lift up our friend who is struggling with spiritual warfare and unwanted thoughts.

We command every unclean spirit influencing their dreams to be bound and cast out in Jesus' name. We ask that You would fill their mind with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

Surround them with godly men and women who can pray with them, encourage them, and hold them accountable.

We pray all these things in Jesus' mighty name. Amen.

Keep standing firm, dear friend. The battle is real, but our God is greater. Trust in Him, and you will be more than a conqueror.
