Beloved of All
Please pray for my mother to find peace. We live in a house where the previous owner died. Unfortunately, the location also happens to be my mother's bedroom. She has trouble sleeping and is sick most days. Recently, she noticed items disappearing or being misplaced only to reappear after we ransacked the room. Her incontinence underwear is often tossed on the floor. Her cane will come crashing down even if leaning against something. She suspects there is a portal open in her closet. Now many people may not believe such things, but I think it's probably true given what I've witnessed. It's ALWAYS cold in her room, no matter the time of year. I don't like what I caught on my phone when I went to investigate. I would like a prayer said to defend my mother against whatever it is tormenting her and to close the portal. She is a strong Christian, but is vulnerable now that she is so ill. Practically bedridden most days. I will say a prayer as well, but feel other Christians praying for her might help. Thank you.

We stand with you in deep concern for your mother’s well-being, both physically and spiritually. The signs you describe—unexplained cold, objects moving or disappearing, and a pervasive sense of oppression—are indeed troubling, and Scripture makes clear that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of darkness (Ephesians 6:12). The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and his tactics often include fear, torment, and physical affliction. But we serve the One who has already overcome the world (John 16:33), and in His name, we take authority over every lying spirit and every unholy presence in that home.

First, we must address the reality of spiritual warfare with the truth of God’s Word. The Bible does not dismiss the existence of evil spirits or their influence—Jesus Himself cast out demons, and His disciples were given authority to do the same (Mark 16:17, Luke 10:19). The cold you describe, the disturbances, and the sense of a "portal" align with what Scripture calls a stronghold—a place where the enemy has gained a foothold, often through past sin, trauma, or ungodly influences (2 Corinthians 10:4). The fact that these manifestations are centered in the room where the previous owner died is not coincidental; death often leaves behind spiritual residue, especially if the person was not in right standing with God. We rebuke any unclean spirit that has lingered in that place, and we command it to flee in the name of Jesus Christ. There is no power in death or the grave—only in the resurrection life of our Savior (1 Corinthians 15:55-57).

We also want to gently but firmly address the practical steps that must be taken alongside prayer. The Bible instructs us to resist the devil, and he will flee (James 4:7). This resistance includes both spiritual and physical action. First, we encourage you to anoint the room with oil in the name of Jesus, claiming it for His kingdom (James 5:14). Walk through every corner of that room, closet, and home, declaring aloud that this is a dwelling place of the Most High God and that no weapon formed against it shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Plead the blood of Jesus over the doorposts, the bed, and every entry point, for the blood is our protection and atonement (Exodus 12:13). If possible, have your mother’s pastor or a trusted spiritual leader come to pray over the home and break any ungodly ties to the past.

We must also address the importance of your mother’s physical and spiritual strength. She is vulnerable in her illness, and the enemy seeks to exploit weakness. Encourage her to put on the full armor of God daily (Ephesians 6:10-18), especially the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. Even if she is bedridden, she can speak Scripture aloud, pray in the Spirit, and listen to worship music that exalts Jesus. Remind her that God has not given her a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). The enemy wants her to feel isolated and powerless, but she is a child of the King, and greater is He who is in her than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).

We also want to address the issue of the "portal" you mentioned. The Bible does not use this term, but it does speak of gateways or doors that the enemy can exploit. These are often opened through sin, occult practices, or unrepentant iniquity (Ephesians 4:27). If the previous owner was involved in any form of witchcraft, New Age practices, or ungodly rituals, this could have created an entry point. We must renounce any ungodly ties to the past and command every door to the kingdom of darkness to be shut in Jesus’ name. Jesus is the door (John 10:9), and no other entrance has authority in His presence.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Name that is above every name, the Name at which every knee must bow. We stand on the authority of Your Word, which declares that the enemy has been disarmed and made a public spectacle through the cross (Colossians 2:15). Lord, we lift up this precious mother to You, a daughter of the Most High God, and we ask that You surround her with Your angels, encamp around her with Your protection, and fill her room with Your presence. We rebuke every spirit of fear, torment, oppression, and death that has taken residence in that home. We command every unclean spirit to leave now, in Jesus’ name. We shut every door, every portal, and every gateway that the enemy has used to gain access, and we seal it with the blood of Jesus.

Father, we plead the blood of Jesus over this home, over every wall, every floorboard, and every piece of furniture. Let Your holy angels stand guard, and let no weapon formed against this family prosper. We declare that this is a dwelling place of the Lord, and that the enemy has no right to be here. We break every curse, every generational tie, and every ungodly soul tie connected to this property, in the name of Jesus. We cancel every assignment of the enemy against this mother’s health, her mind, and her peace.

Lord, strengthen her in her weakness. Fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Let her rest in the knowledge that You neither slumber nor sleep, and that You are her ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Heal her body, renew her strength, and restore her joy. Let her sleep in peace, knowing that You are watching over her. We ask that You would bring godly believers into her life to pray with her, encourage her, and stand in the gap on her behalf.

Father, we also pray for wisdom and discernment for this family. Show them if there are any steps they need to take to fully cleanse this home, whether through prayer, repentance, or practical action. Let them walk in the authority You have given them as believers, and let them not be afraid, for You have not given them a spirit of fear.

We thank You, Lord, that You are faithful and true. You have promised that if we resist the devil, he will flee (James 4:7), and we stand on that promise today. We declare victory in Jesus’ name, and we thank You for the peace, healing, and restoration that is already on the way. May this home be filled with Your light, Your love, and Your glory. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue standing in faith, even when the enemy tries to bring doubt or fear. The battle is already won, and the victory is yours in Christ. Keep speaking Scripture over your mother and that home, and do not grow weary in doing good (Galatians 6:9). If possible, gather other believers to pray with you, for where two or three are gathered in His name, He is there in the midst of them (Matthew 18:20). The enemy wants to isolate you, but you are not alone—you are part of the body of Christ, and we stand with you in this fight. May God’s peace, which transcends all understanding, guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

Dear friend, we're here with you, lifting your mother up in prayer. We understand the distress she's in, and we want her to know she's not alone. We've been praying for her, and we want to share a few more things with you.

First, remind your mother that God is always with her. He never leaves nor forsakes His children (Hebrews 13:5). Encourage her to spend time in God's Word and in prayer each day. The more she fills her mind with God's truth, the less room there will be for fear and doubt.

We also want to remind you both that God is in control. He sees your mother's situation, and He cares deeply. He promises to work all things together for her good (Romans 8:28). Trust in His goodness and His love for her.

We've been praying for the home as well. We ask that God would fill it with His light, His love, and His peace. We pray that any unclean spirits would flee and that God would establish His presence in that home. We also ask that God would give you both wisdom and discernment to know how to move forward.

Remember, we're in this together. We're here to support you both in prayer. Keep standing in faith, and don't grow weary. The battle may seem tough, but the victory is already won in Jesus' name.

Let's keep praying, and let's keep trusting in our good God. He's got this.

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God Loves You. Thank You Jesus!!!
