Spiritual Warfare and Car Issues

I'm standing at day 8 of prayer and fasting and so far so good. However, today I had a powerful spiritual attack on me. I've been feeling very discouraged and feel like giving up, but I know it's in these moments the Devil is fighting us the hardest because breakthrough is very near. This morning my car ran into some trouble too and wanted to start very slowly. I thought it was the battery, but after having it check they said it was the alternator. I've been trying to save up for a new car in the mean time, but I keep running into problem after problem with my car. Just asking for more prayers for strength and that the Lord will have his way and make a way where there seems to be no way.

We stand with you in this intense spiritual battle, recognizing the enemy’s tactics to discourage and derail you just as breakthrough is within reach. The attacks you’re facing, both spiritually and practically with your car, are not coincidences but signs that the enemy fears what God is about to release in your life. We rebuke every spirit of discouragement, doubt, and delay in the mighty name of Jesus Christ! The Word declares in Ephesians 6:12, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." You are not fighting alone, we take up the full armor of God with you, standing firm in faith.

The car troubles you’re experiencing are no surprise to the Lord. He knows your needs before you even ask, and He promises in Philippians 4:19, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." We pray that God would intervene supernaturally in this situation, whether by providing the resources for the repair, revealing a hidden solution, or even opening the door for the new car you’ve been saving toward. The enemy may try to use financial strain to distract you, but we declare that God is your Provider and that He will make a way where there seems to be no way. Remember, Jesus calmed the storm with a word, what is a faulty alternator to Him?

We also want to encourage you to press into worship and the Word during this fast. When discouragement comes, counter it with praise. Psalm 8:2 says, "From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise because of your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger." The enemy cannot stand in the presence of a heart that magnifies the Lord. Keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith, who endured the cross for the joy set before Him (Hebrews 12:2). Your breakthrough is closer than you think, don’t let the enemy steal your joy or your faith.

Let us pray with you now:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name. Lord, we rebuke every spirit of discouragement, delay, and lack that has been sent to attack our brother/sister. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that every assignment of the enemy is dismantled now by the blood of Jesus. Father, we ask You to intervene in this car situation, provide the resources needed, whether through unexpected provision, wisdom for a solution, or even the new car they’ve been believing for. Let Your glory be revealed in this trial, Lord, and let faith arise in their heart as they see You move. Strengthen them to stand firm, to keep fasting, and to keep praying, knowing that You are fighting for them. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and remind them that greater is He who is in them than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). We thank You for breakthrough, for victory, and for Your faithfulness. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen."

Keep standing, dear one. The enemy’s attacks are proof that you’re on the verge of something great. Don’t give up now, your testimony is being written, and God is about to turn this battle into a testimony of His power and provision. We’re believing with you for supernatural intervention in every area of your life!

We’re standing with you today, and we know how disheartening it is when everything seems to pile on at once, especially when you’ve been faithfully seeking the Lord through prayer and fasting. That discouragement you’re feeling is real, but it doesn’t get the last word. You’ve already named the truth: these attacks often flare up right before breakthrough, and the enemy’s most frantic efforts can’t stop what God is about to do.

It sounds like you’ve been wise to get the car checked. We know the alternator news tightens the financial knot you were already feeling, and that can make the spiritual battle feel heavier. In moments like these, it helps to let someone from your church family know both the spiritual and practical needs, sometimes a brother or sister can offer a ride, a listening ear, or just a tangible reminder you’re not in this alone. Also, since you’re past a week of fasting, would you pause and make sure you’re drinking enough water and that you’ve let a doctor know what you’re doing? We say that not to dampen your devotion, but because honoring your body protects your ability to keep going and to serve long after this fast ends.

Please don’t let today’s trouble convince you that God has forgotten. He sees your persistence, and He’s already at work making a way where there seems to be none, often in ways we can’t imagine until we look back later.

Lord Jesus, you walked through every human struggle and you know the exhaustion this friend is feeling. Renew their strength right now. Guard their mind from despair, and bring a clear solution for the car, provision, wisdom, or an unexpected opening. Let this fast bear fruit, and hold them steady until they see your hand move. We ask in your name, amen.

When the adversary perceives that a soul is drawing near to its God with fasting and supplication, he musters all his force to cast down and to dishearten. It is no strange thing, then, that at the eighth day the attack should be most fierce. Discouragement is one of his sharpest arrows, for it aims at the very heart of faith. Yet you have rightly discerned that his rage is the signal of an approaching deliverance. The prince of darkness does not kick against those who lie still in his grasp; he roars when he fears to lose his prey. Take this as a token for good and hold fast.

As for the failing strength within, remember that they who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. Human strength, of whatsoever sort, spends itself and dries up; but the strength of God is inexhaustible. When we have no might, He increases strength. Fainting is the very moment to fling yourself upon the Divine omnipotence and to prove the promise, “I will strengthen them.” Do not ask to lay up a store of strength for tomorrow, but receive the daily portion: as thy days, so shall thy strength be. The day of a faltering engine and an empty purse is a day that He has measured, and He will provide the peculiar grace needed for it, patience, trust, and a quiet heart.

The chariot wheels may drag, but the Lord Himself will make a way where no way appears. All strength comes from Him, and the glory of it must never lie in our cleverness or our savings. He may send the deliverance gradually, as strength returns to the convalescent, but send it He will. I pray you may taste the joy of the Lord, which is your strength, even while the trouble is yet present, the inward calm that crouches in the fullness of His power. Only go forward in this good fight of faith; He will bring you through. The Lion of the tribe of Judah will roar louder than your adversary, and you shall yet go on your way rejoicing.

You have rightly discerned that the enemy presses hardest when your breakthrough is near. The very fact that you feel such discouragement and car trouble on the eighth day of prayer and fasting shows that the devil is alarmed by your perseverance. Do not give up now. Remember, your Heavenly Father knows what you need before you ask. He is not a distant God, but your Father, and no father overlooks his children in their extremity. Your car's alternator and your weariness are not hidden from Him, and He will make a way where there seems to be none, just as He provided for Paul even in chains.

Think of Paul bound in prison, yet he rejoiced because his chains advanced the gospel. He did not see his bonds as defeat, but as a platform for God's power. Your present trial, whether with the car or the assault on your spirit, can become the very place where God shows Himself strong. Use this moment to renew your inner man through repentance and hope. The Law could not make anyone perfect, but hope in Christ can. Do not let your heart cling to the provision of a new car as if it were your security; rather, seek first the kingdom, and trust that your Father will supply every practical need in His time. Making provision for the flesh out of anxiety only kindles worry, not health.

When you feel like giving up, remember that this life is like a dream. Those who grow rich in a dream wake empty; but those who endure with faith wake to true riches. Your fasting and prayer are not in vain. Let your hope be strengthened. Do not pray against your circumstances with a murmuring spirit, but ask for strength to stand firm. God will soon send relief, and this trial will become a testimony to His faithfulness. Stand fast, and you will see His deliverance.
