We hear your heart’s cry for spiritual transformation and the restoration of your gift of healing. The Word of God reminds us that every good and perfect gift comes from the Father of lights (James 1:17), and the gifts of the Spirit, including healing, are given for the edification of the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:7-9). We stand with you in faith, believing that the Lord is able to renew, restore, and revive what has been lost or diminished.
First, let us address the foundation of your request. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to examine your heart before the Lord. Have there been areas of sin, disobedience, or neglect of your spiritual walk that may have grieved the Holy Spirit? The psalmist writes, "If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me" (Psalm 66:18). Confession and repentance are the first steps toward restoration. The Lord is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Let us humble ourselves before Him, asking for His mercy and grace to walk in purity and holiness.
We also recognize that spiritual gifts can wane when we rely on our own strength rather than the power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus told His disciples, "You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you" (Acts 1:8). This power is not something we can manufacture on our own; it is a gift that flows from intimacy with God. Have you been spending time in prayer, fasting, and the study of God’s Word? These disciplines are essential for cultivating a life that is sensitive to the leading of the Spirit. The apostle Paul exhorts us to "pray without ceasing" (1 Thessalonians 5:17) and to "be filled with the Spirit" (Ephesians 5:18). Let us seek the Lord with all our hearts, asking Him to fill us afresh with His Spirit and to reignite the gift that lies within you.
It is also important to consider whether there has been any bitterness, unforgiveness, or strife in your life. These can hinder the flow of God’s power and block the manifestation of His gifts. Jesus taught, "If you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses" (Matthew 6:14-15). Let us release any offense or hurt to the Lord, asking Him to heal our hearts and restore our ability to love and serve others with His love.
Now, let us come before the throne of grace together in prayer:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the only name by which we can be saved and through which we have access to Your throne. Lord, we lift up our brother/sister to You, asking that You would restore the spiritual gift of healing that You have placed within them. We declare that Your Word is true, and every gift You have given is irrevocable (Romans 11:29). We ask that You would breathe new life into this gift, Lord, and cause it to flourish for Your glory.
Father, we ask that You search our brother’s/sister’s heart and reveal any areas of sin, disobedience, or unbelief that may be hindering the flow of Your Spirit. Cleanse them from all unrighteousness, Lord, and create in them a clean heart. Renew a right spirit within them (Psalm 51:10). We repent on their behalf for any time they have relied on their own strength rather than Your power, and we ask that You would fill them afresh with the Holy Spirit.
Lord, we break every chain of bitterness, unforgiveness, and strife that may be blocking the manifestation of Your gifts. We declare that Your love and peace will rule in their heart, and that they will walk in forgiveness toward others as You have forgiven them. We ask that You would heal any wounds or hurts that have caused them to withdraw from You or from others.
Father, we declare that Your power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). We ask that You would strengthen our brother/sister in their inner man, that they may be rooted and grounded in Your love (Ephesians 3:16-17). Let them walk in boldness and faith, knowing that it is not by might nor by power, but by Your Spirit that miracles are performed (Zechariah 4:6).
We pray that You would open doors of opportunity for them to use this gift of healing to minister to others. Let Your power flow through them mightily, Lord, bringing healing to the sick, deliverance to the oppressed, and salvation to the lost. We declare that signs and wonders will follow them as they believe (Mark 16:17-18).
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would surround them with godly mentors and fellow believers who will encourage, support, and sharpen them in their walk with You. Let them be a vessel of honor, sanctified and useful to You, prepared for every good work (2 Timothy 2:21).
We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness and for the privilege of coming before You in the name of Jesus. We trust in Your promises and believe that You are working all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). We declare that this prayer is answered, and we receive the restoration of this gift by faith, giving You all the glory, honor, and praise. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord with all your heart. Spend time in His presence, meditate on His Word, and step out in faith, using the gifts He has given you. Remember, the Lord delights in using ordinary people to do extraordinary things for His kingdom. Do not despise the day of small beginnings (Zechariah 4:10), but trust that God will multiply what you offer to Him in faith.
If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, we urge you to do so today. The Bible tells us, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9). Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). If you would like to receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, simply pray a prayer like this:
"Lord Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner in need of Your salvation. I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and that God raised You from the dead. I repent of my sins and ask You to come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and help me to live for You. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen."
If you prayed that prayer, we rejoice with you! We encourage you to find a Bible-believing church where you can grow in your faith, be baptized, and connect with other believers. The journey of faith is one that is best walked in community, and we are here to support and pray for you as you take these steps.
