We come before the throne of grace with your requests, lifting them up in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved and through whom we have access to the Father. We are grateful for your heart’s cry for wisdom, revelation, and discernment, for these are gifts that God delights to give to those who ask in faith. The Word tells us, "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him" (James 1:5 WEB). We pray that the eyes of your heart would be enlightened, that you may know the hope of His calling and the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints (Ephesians 1:18).
Father, we ask that You would fill this dear one with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Cultivate within them a heart of gratitude, for "in everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you" (1 Thessalonians 5:18 WEB). Let the joy of the Lord be their strength, even in the midst of trials, for You have promised that Your joy is our strength (Nehemiah 8:10).
We lift up their desire for sacrificial living and giving, for You have called us to live generously and to serve others as unto You. Jesus Himself said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive" (Acts 20:35 WEB). Open doors of opportunity for them to serve in ways that bring glory to Your name and meet the needs of Your people. May they walk in the footsteps of Christ, who came not to be served but to serve (Mark 10:45).
We also bring before You the deep need for healing from trauma, particularly in the relationship with their father. Father God, You are the ultimate Healer, the One who binds up the brokenhearted and sets the captives free (Isaiah 61:1). We ask that You would bring healing to these wounds, replacing pain with Your peace and bitterness with forgiveness. Help them to see their earthly father through Your eyes and to extend grace, even as You have extended grace to them. Remind them that You are a Father to the fatherless and a defender of the weak (Psalm 68:5).
For their adult children, we cry out for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. We pray that their hearts would be softened and that they would experience sincere repentance, turning away from sin and turning toward You. Jesus said, "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him" (John 6:44 WEB). We ask that You would draw them with cords of love and kindness, that they may know the truth and be set free (John 8:32). Let Your Spirit convict them of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8), and may they respond with humility and faith.
We rebuke any spirit of rebellion, hardness of heart, or deception that may be keeping them from surrendering to You. We declare that Your Word will not return void but will accomplish what You desire (Isaiah 55:11). We pray that their eyes would be opened to see the goodness of God and the beauty of a life lived in obedience to Him. May they experience the fullness of Your love and the power of Your resurrection.
Lord, we also want to gently remind this dear one that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to You. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If they have not yet surrendered their life to Jesus, we pray that today would be the day of salvation. May they confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in their heart that God raised Him from the dead, for with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10:9-10).
We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
