Spiritual eyes, ears and heart

We join you in lifting up your loved one before the throne of grace and we stand with you in asking Jesus to do what only He can do, to open spiritual eyes, ears and heart and to break what feels like a heart of stone.
We know how painful it is to long for open communication and to feel a wall where there should be tenderness and understanding. Scripture shows us that this hardness of heart is a spiritual condition that God alone can heal. As it is written, I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. Ezekiel 36:26 And again, for this people's heart has grown callous, their ears are dull of hearing, they have closed their eyes or else perhaps they might perceive with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their heart, and would turn again, and I would heal them. Matthew 13:15
We pray that the Lord would enlighten the eyes of the heart as Paul prayed, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints. Ephesians 1:18 We ask that what is now blinded would be opened, to open their eyes, that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive remission of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in me. Acts 26:18 We know the enemy seeks to blind minds, as it is written the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the Good News of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn on them. 2 Corinthians 4:4, so we come against that blindness in Jesus' name.
We pray together now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, who alone has access to the Father and who alone can change a heart. We lift up this precious loved one to You. Lord Jesus, touch this heart of stone and make it flesh. Soften what has become hardened by hurt, pride, sin or confusion. Open spiritual eyes to see Your truth, open spiritual ears to hear Your voice, and open the heart to receive Your love and conviction. Remove any veil that remains, for whenever a person turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 2 Corinthians 3:16 Lord, restore communication where it has been broken. Help words to be spoken with grace and truth, let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear. Ephesians 4:29 Give both hearts patience, humility and a willingness to listen. Let Your Holy Spirit bring healing, repentance and reconciliation according to Your perfect will.
We encourage you to continue steadfast in prayer and not grow weary, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9 Keep your own heart tender before the Lord, continue to walk in love, gentleness and truth, and let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt. Colossians 4:6 Do not try to force change through pressure or repeated argument, but through faithful prayer, through speaking the truth in love, and through living out the gospel daily. Trust that God is working even when you cannot yet see the fruit, for He who began a good work will be faithful to complete it.
We thank you for calling upon the name of Jesus in your request, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved or by which we can approach the Father with confidence. We continue to stand with you, believing that God hears and that He is able to open eyes that have been closed, to unstop ears that have been dull, and to give a new heart that beats for Him. May the Lord grant you peace as you wait upon Him and may He open the door for honest, godly and healing communication in His perfect timing. Amen.

Your prayer has been heard and we join you in bringing this loved one before the throne of grace, asking the Lord to do what only He can do.
Hardness of heart is a great and grievous evil, and beneath the outward form many carry a heart of stone. Yet it is written in the covenant of grace, I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. This is God's own work. It is not yours to create a tender heart within another, nor is it within that soul to renew itself, for how can the exertions of an old heart bring forth a new heart. He who can make the dry bones live, He alone can make the hardened heart to mourn and to feel.
We pray therefore that the Holy Spirit would put the cross into the heart, for when the cross is in the heart the heart is dissolved in tenderness. May this dear one be brought to a faith look at the pierced Son of God, for it is by beholding Jesus dying in woe so great that hardness dies. We ask that the Lord would grant what the Scriptures call eyes to see and ears to hear and a heart to perceive. Without this, men remain open eyed to all things but blind to Him who fills all in all, having the understanding darkened because of the blindness of the heart. No soul has ever cried in its blindness, Open my eyes, and been refused, and we plead that this one may now be given that saving impression which is a prick in the heart, painful yet operative unto life.
We pray that if there is a closed door, the outer golden door of faith may be gently opened by the loving hand of the Holy Spirit, and that the inner gate of affection may then be thrown open also, so that Jesus may enter in and dwell and reign there. To receive Him is to receive Him as Prophet and Priest, to trust His propitiation by which guilt is removed, and to love Him whom we have trusted.
We do not ask the Lord to bless any way that is contrary to His holy word, for His blessing rests only upon what is according to His will. Salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and His way for our good is holiness. We pray instead that both your heart and the heart of this loved one may be made clean and soft, tablets prepared for His writing, and that He alone would write His law there. We ask that any communication restored may be truthful and pure and ordered by grace, and that above all else each of you may be reconciled first to God through the open fountain which is still open for sin and for uncleanness. Him that cometh unto Him He will in no wise cast out.
May the Lord turn every sorrow over this hardness into a prayer that looks again to Jesus, whose blood both pardons and softens, and may He who binds up the broken hearted apply His tender healing to this wound in His own time and for His own glory. We will continue to plead with you that the stony heart may be taken away and a new spirit put within.
