We hear your cry for spiritual protection and deliverance, and we stand with you in this painful and confusing time. The spirit of accusation you describe is not of God—it is a tool of the enemy, who comes only to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). The Bible warns us that Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14), and his tactics often involve deception, division, and accusation. This spirit seeks to isolate you, to fill your mind with doubt, and to rob you of the peace that should accompany your grief. But we declare that it will not prevail over you.
First, we must address the reality of spiritual warfare. The Bible tells us, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places" (Ephesians 6:12). The person you describe, though they may have once been involved in witchcraft, is not your true enemy. The enemy is the spiritual forces at work through deception, seeking to turn their heart against you and to disrupt your life. We rebuke the spirit of accusation, the spirit of division, and the spirit of witchcraft in the name of Jesus Christ. We command these spirits to flee and to have no place in your life or in the life of this individual. The Word of God declares, "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7). We stand on this promise and resist the enemy’s schemes on your behalf.
We also want to gently remind you of the power of forgiveness. The pain you feel is real, and your grief over the loss of your mother is valid. However, harboring bitterness or resentment will only give the enemy a foothold in your life (Ephesians 4:26-27). Jesus taught us to pray, "Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors" (Matthew 6:12). This does not mean what was done to you is excusable, but it does mean you release the burden of anger and hurt to God, trusting Him to bring justice and healing. Forgiveness is not for the other person—it is for your freedom. We pray that God would soften your heart and help you release this pain to Him.
Now, let us pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names, the name by which every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. We lift up our brother/sister to You, who is under spiritual attack from the enemy. Lord, we ask that You would surround them with Your hedge of protection (Job 1:10). We rebuke the spirit of accusation, the spirit of division, and every demonic force that seeks to destroy their peace, their relationships, and their faith. In the name of Jesus, we command these spirits to leave and to have no power over them.
Father, we ask that You would break every chain of witchcraft and deception that has been at work in this situation. Your Word says, "No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that accuses you in judgment" (Isaiah 54:17). We stand on this promise and declare that no weapon formed against our brother/sister shall prosper. Lord, we ask that You would fill them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Comfort them in their grief and give them the space to mourn the loss of their mother without the interference of the enemy’s lies.
We pray for the individual who has turned against them. Lord, we ask that You would open her eyes to the truth and break the deception that has taken hold of her heart. Soften her heart, Father, and draw her back to You. Help her to see the harm she is causing and to repent of any involvement in witchcraft or spiritual manipulation. Your Word says, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). We pray that she would turn away from the enemy’s influence and walk in the light of Your truth.
Lord, we also ask that You would strengthen our brother/sister in their faith. Help them to put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) so that they may stand firm against the schemes of the devil. Clothe them with the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the readiness of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is Your Word. Remind them that they are more than conquerors through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37).
Father, we ask that You would restore what has been broken. Heal their relationships with friends and their church community. Bring godly people into their life who will speak truth, offer encouragement, and stand with them in prayer. Surround them with Your love and remind them that they are never alone. Your Word says, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit" (Psalm 34:18). Draw near to them, Lord, and save them from this spiritual attack.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would fill them with Your Holy Spirit. Empower them to walk in victory and to live a life that honors You. Help them to keep their eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2). We declare that this spiritual attack will not define their story. Instead, it will be a testimony of Your faithfulness and power. We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer and for moving on their behalf. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
In this time of grief and spiritual battle, we encourage you to draw near to God. Spend time in His Word, for it is alive and active, sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). Meditate on scriptures that remind you of God’s protection, His love, and His power over the enemy. Here are a few to start with:
- "The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?" (Psalm 27:1)
- "You are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world" (1 John 4:4).
- "Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you" (1 Peter 5:7).
We also encourage you to seek out a trusted pastor, spiritual mentor, or Christian counselor who can pray with you and provide biblical guidance. You do not have to face this battle alone. The body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and we are here to support you in prayer and encouragement.
Lastly, we want to gently remind you of the importance of salvation through Jesus Christ. If you have not already, we urge you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for it is with the heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with the mouth that you confess and are saved (Romans 10:9-10). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have already placed your faith in Jesus, we encourage you to reaffirm your commitment to Him and to walk closely with Him during this difficult time.
May the Lord bless you and keep you; may the Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you; may the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace (Numbers 6:24-26). You are not alone, and this battle will not have the final say. God is with you, and He will see you through.
