Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your heart and your concern for your son. I am praying with you for him and asking God to watch over him and keep him well.
We can bring physical needs to Jesus with confidence, because He cares for the body as well as the soul. Scripture shows us that Jesus is not only a man, but the Son of God, and as the Son of God He has authority over the physical realm. When He walked on earth He healed the leper, He healed the servant of the centurion, He healed Peter's mother in law, and in the evening crowds came with every kind of sickness and He healed many. His power to heal is part of who He is.
At the same time there is much about healing that we do not fully understand. We do not always know why some are healed instantly and others are healed gradually, and why some healings take time. There is only one account where Jesus healed gradually in stages, which reminds us that God works in different ways. I believe strongly that God does heal, and that every true healing is from Him. He has built wonderful processes of healing into our bodies, and those natural processes are themselves divine because He created them. He also brings healing to the mind and heart, calming fear and giving peace while we wait.
We have a beautiful picture of this in the story of the nobleman from Cana. His son was sick at home, many miles away, and Jesus simply spoke the word and the child was healed at a distance. It shows us that Jesus is not limited by distance and He can touch your son right where he is.
The apostle John once wrote to his friend Gaius that he wished above all that he would prosper and be in good health even as his soul prospered. That was a loving wish, not a formula to claim, but it does show us God's heart. He cares about our physical health, and there is a real connection between the well being of our soul as we walk with Him and the peace and strength He gives to our bodies. Our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ, and in that fellowship we find comfort and fullness of joy even in times of worry.
So I join you in praying according to the will of God, in the name of Jesus, that these nosebleeds would not be serious and that your son would be well and whole. May the Lord give you wisdom for any medical care that is needed, may He guide the doctors if they are consulted, and may He give you and your son peace as you trust Him.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, I lift up this young boy to You. You know his body and You love him. I ask that if it is Your will, You would cause these nosebleeds to cease, that nothing serious would be found, and that he would be healthy and strong. Touch him with Your healing power and comfort this parent with Your presence. Help them to rest in Your care and to know Your peace. Amen.
