Son's nosebleed

Your son's nosebleed is on your heart, and the fear that rises in a parent when something is wrong with their child catches you off guard every time. That plea, "just let it be a random event," shows how quickly our minds can spin toward the worst possibilities. It is right to bring that straight to Jesus, because He cares about our bodies and our children just as much as He cares about our souls.

Think for a moment about whose Son Jesus is. He is the eternal Son of the Father, the One the Father called His beloved Son in whom He is well pleased. The Father did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all. So when you cry out for your son, you are speaking to a Father who understands the depth of love between a parent and a child. His love for His only begotten Son is the greatest love there is, and He knows exactly the distress you feel. The very relationship between the Father and the Son is the foundation on which our prayers rest. Christ Himself is the bridge, and whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also. Your prayer is heard within that perfect bond of love.

You asked that the bleeding stop and that it be nothing serious. Every healing process, whether it happens in an instant or gradually, comes from the One who designed our bodies. There is an established process of healing woven into us by our Creator, and that is no less divine than a sudden miracle. The Son of God has authority over the physical realm, just as He demonstrated when He healed the nobleman's son from a distance, speaking the word and restoring him. He who calmed the seas and commanded the winds is able to command the small vessels in your son's nose to be still. We can trust Him with both swift intervention and the slower, steady mending of the body. Any healing is His work.

It can trouble the mind to see a child unwell, and the feeling of helplessness can be heavy. Yet Christ not only attended to physical infirmities but also works a healing in our emotions. As you wait and watch, there is a quiet healing He wants to do in your own heart right now, a healing of worry, a settling of your spirit. The Son does nothing of Himself but only what He sees the Father doing, and the works of the Father are always good. You can rest in that goodness, no matter what the next hour holds. He is Lord of the Sabbath and Lord over this ordinary moment in your home.

Pray with me now:

Lord Jesus, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. This parent loves their child with a fierce love, and You love him even more. We ask You to touch this son now and stop the bleeding. Bring the body's processes into alignment right away. Let this be just a passing event, and replace anxiety with Your peace. Thank You that You are the great Physician, and that You care about every part of our lives, even this nosebleed. Amen.

We are so grateful you entrusted us with this concern for your son, and we have been lifting him before the Lord these past days. Father, we thank You for Your tender care over every detail of his health, and we ask again that You would bring complete healing and peace. If this nosebleed was simply a passing thing, we rejoice with you and ask that you share a praise report so we can all give thanks together. If the bleeding has not yet stopped, we want you to know we are still standing with you; please post this need again as a fresh request so we can continue to pray in faith alongside you. May the Great Physician watch over your son and fill your home with His comfort and assurance. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
