We lift your son before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, knowing the weight of anxiety and repeated disappointment he carries. Father God, we ask that You would meet him in this moment of deep struggle, where fear threatens to overshadow his identity and purpose. The Bible tells us in Philippians 4:6-7, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* Lord, let this peace that defies logic flood his heart as he prepares for his exams. Remove the spirit of fear that has taken root, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7).
We rebuke the lies that have crept into his mind—lies that tell him he is not enough, that his worth is tied to his performance, or that failure defines him. Remind him, Lord, that his value is not found in grades or achievements, but in being Your beloved child, fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). Speak truth to his heart: *"For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord, "plans for welfare, and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope"* (Jeremiah 29:11). Let him cling to this promise, even when the path feels uncertain.
Father, we ask for supernatural recall of all he has studied. Open his mind to understand and retain what he needs for this exam. Calm his nerves so his thoughts are clear, and grant him favor with his teacher—let them see his effort and heart, not just the outcome. We also lift up the struggles at home, especially the chronic pain that adds to this burden. Lord, You are the Great Physician; we ask for Your healing touch to bring relief and strength to endure. *"Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you"* (1 Peter 5:7). May this season of trial draw him closer to You, where he finds his true worth and security.
We pray against the spirit of depression that seeks to isolate him. Surround him with Your presence, Lord, and with people who will speak life into him. Let him hear Your voice above all others, whispering, *"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness"* (2 Corinthians 12:9). Give him the courage to press on, not in his own strength, but in Yours.
And Father, if he has not yet surrendered his life to Jesus, we pray that this struggle would lead him to the foot of the cross. There is no peace like the peace that comes from knowing Christ as Savior and Lord. *"For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life"* (John 3:16). May he find hope in You alone, the Author and Perfecter of his faith (Hebrews 12:2).
We declare victory over this exam and this season of anxiety. Your Word says in Isaiah 41:10, *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."* We stand on this promise, trusting that You will carry him through. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
