Disciple of Prayer
Please all join me in prayer for my adult son. He has sickle cell anemia with depression and a very bad case of social anxiety! He has a dr appointment this coming Thursday but he’s refusing to go. I’m so stressed and his anxiety is through the roof. He really needs to go but is strongly refusing to go. I’m his legal guardian but I’m feeling helpless. Please pray for God’s favor that he will go in Jesus name. Thanks everyone for your prayers!

We lift your son up before the Lord with hearts full of compassion, knowing that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Your love for your son is evident, and we commend you for seeking the Lord in this difficult time. The challenges he faces—sickle cell anemia, depression, and social anxiety—are heavy burdens, but our God is greater than all of them. He is the Great Physician, the One who heals both body and soul, and we trust in His power to move in this situation.

First, we encourage you to remember that while you may feel helpless, you are not alone. The Lord is with you, and He has given you authority as your son’s guardian to act in his best interest. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* This is a time to lean fully on God’s wisdom and strength, even when your son resists what is best for him.

It is also important to recognize that fear and anxiety are not from the Lord. 2 Timothy 1:7 tells us, *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* Your son’s refusal to go to the doctor may be rooted in fear, but we serve a God who can replace that fear with peace and courage. We must pray not only for his physical healing but also for the breaking of spiritual strongholds that may be binding him. The enemy would love to keep him in bondage to anxiety, but Jesus came to set the captives free (Luke 4:18).

We also want to gently remind you that while you are doing all you can, ultimately, this battle belongs to the Lord. You cannot force your son’s heart to change, but God can. Pray that the Holy Spirit would convict him and soften his heart to receive the help he needs. Sometimes, our loved ones must reach a point of surrender before they are willing to take the steps necessary for healing. Continue to love him, speak truth over him, and trust that God is working even when you cannot see it.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You today on behalf of this mother and her son. Lord, You know the struggles they are facing—the physical pain, the emotional turmoil, and the spiritual battles. We ask for Your divine intervention in this situation. You are the God who parts seas, who raises the dead, and who brings hope to the hopeless. Nothing is too difficult for You.

Father, we pray for this son’s heart to be softened. Remove the spirit of fear and anxiety that has gripped him and replace it with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:6-7). Give him the strength and courage to attend his doctor’s appointment this Thursday. Open his eyes to see that this is a step toward healing, not something to be feared. Lord, if there are any spiritual strongholds or lies from the enemy that are keeping him bound, we rebuke them now in the name of Jesus. Let Your truth prevail in his mind and heart.

We also lift up this mother, who carries the weight of concern for her son. Strengthen her, Lord, and fill her with Your peace. Give her wisdom to know how to guide her son with both firmness and love. Remind her that she is not alone—that You are her ever-present help.

Lord, we ask for Your favor over this appointment. May the doctor be filled with Your wisdom and compassion, and may every detail work together for good. We pray for healing over this son’s body—relief from the pain of sickle cell, restoration of his emotional well-being, and freedom from the chains of anxiety. Let this appointment be a turning point toward wholeness.

Most of all, Father, we pray that both this mother and her son would draw closer to You through this trial. May they experience Your presence in a tangible way and trust You more deeply. We ask all of this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus, our Healer and Redeemer. Amen.

Finally, we encourage you to keep speaking life and truth over your son. Remind him of God’s promises, such as Isaiah 41:10: *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."* Even if he resists, your prayers are powerful and effective (James 5:16). Keep standing in the gap for him, and trust that God is at work. We will continue to pray with you for breakthrough and healing.

We're right there with you, sister. We've been where you are, feeling that helplessness and anxiety. But remember, God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1). Let's claim that promise together.

We know your son is struggling, but we also know a God who specializes in healing the broken and setting captives free (Luke 4:18). Let's pray that your son's heart would be softened, that fear and anxiety would be replaced with God's perfect peace (Philippians 4:6-7). Let's ask God to give him the courage to attend his appointment, to see it as a step towards healing, not something to fear.

And for you, dear mother, let's pray for strength and peace. You're not alone in this; God is right there with you, guiding and empowering you. Trust in His wisdom and timing, even when it's hard.

Let's keep praying, keep believing, and keep speaking life and truth over your son. God is at work, even when we can't see it. We're standing with you, praying for breakthrough and healing. In Jesus' name, we trust. Amen.

Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

Please all join me in prayer for my adult son. He has sickle cell anemia with depression and a very bad case of social anxiety! He has a dr appointment this coming Thursday but he’s refusing to go. I’m so stressed and his anxiety is through the roof. He really needs to go but is strongly refusing to go. I’m his legal guardian but I’m feeling helpless. Please pray for God’s favor that he will go in Jesus name. Thanks everyone for your prayers!
My son did not go to his dr’s appointment today. I had to accept the fact that he couldn’t go because his anxiety was so bad. He literally had a mental breakdown. However, have seen some improvements in him since I told him he didn’t have to go.
I thank you all for your prayers. Please continue to keep us in your prayers because he really needs to be seen by his sickle cell and psychiatrist drs. I will update.
Still trusting and believing! God blessings to all in Jesus name
