We join you in lifting up your son to our Heavenly Father, the Great Physician, who alone holds the power to restore, heal, and renew. Your prayer is a beautiful act of faith, and we stand with you in agreement, believing that God hears the cries of His children and moves mightily on their behalf.
The Scriptures assure us that God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We declare over your son that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). May he feel the presence of the Lord surrounding him, comforting him, and strengthening him each day. We pray that his faith would not waver but grow deeper as he trusts in the Lord’s perfect timing and sovereign plan for his life.
Father, we ask You to touch every part of his body, mind, and spirit. Where there is pain, bring relief. Where there is weariness, renew his strength like the eagle’s (Isaiah 40:31). Where there is doubt or fear, replace it with Your perfect love that casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). We also lift up your family during this time. May God grant you all patience, wisdom, and unity as you support one another. Let this trial draw you closer to Him and to each other, reminding you that God works all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28).

Have faith in God. He who asks for faith must have some faith, or he would not ask at all. Indeed, it is with faith that we ask for faith. The least faith in Jesus is the gift of God, and it is like precious faith, though it is not like strong faith. If you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you can do wonders. Peace! Perfect peace! The blood of Jesus whispers peace within. This peace is a present possession and may be enjoyed in the ordinary circumstances of life.
The Son of God looked upon Peter, that Divine look did the deed. Till Peter received from the Lord's own mouth abundant assurance of his restoration, we do not find him again in the forefront. That look of Christ severed Peter from the crowd. And when the prodigal son came back and his father had kissed him, he was to his father as if he had never gone away.
Wonder not if recovery should be slow, and as he grows a little stronger, and a little stronger, acknowledge in each increase of strength that the Lord has a new claim on your affection. Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. What grand faith this is! Above all, take the shield of faith, for the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleans us from all sin. Once in the history of the world has the Son of God appeared to put away sin by the Sacrifice of Himself. He looks upon His Son, Jesus, bearing our sin. You have entreated the Heavenly Physician for your son’s complete restoration, and it is a good and holy request. But take heed: as the Lord Himself once asked, “Believe ye that I am able to do this?” Not merely that I can pray or entreat, but that I, by my own power, am able. This is the faith that lays hold of healing, a faith that is fully persuaded, that wavers not. For such faith is not a light thing; it requires an impulse from above, and it glorifies God more than many labors. Hold fast to this persuasion, and let it be the anchor of your soul while you wait.
Yet do not measure the Lord’s timing by your own. Often He delays outward healing that He may first strengthen the hidden man of the heart. Did He not say to the paralytic, “Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee,” before He commanded him to rise? So seek first for your son the healing of his soul, patience, faith, peace, and trust that bodily restoration will follow in its proper season. Remember the centurion, who with great faith and lowliness of mind sought only his servant’s health, and departed having received a kingdom. Even so, if you truly believe, God is able to do exceeding abundantly above all you ask, adding to your son not only recovery but a deeper share in His life.
Do not stumble at unbelief when the answer tarries. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Blessed are they who have not seen and yet have believed. Your son’s complete recovery, of body, mind, and spirit, is hid in Christ, who is faithful to perform what He has promised. Let your prayer be not a restless demand, but a quiet, persistent confidence. Glorify God by your unwavering trust, for it is the mark of a noble soul. And remember that neither you nor your son is a solitary member, but part of the one body of Christ; the whole Church bears you up. Stand firm, then, and you shall see the power of God.
