Beloved of All
Jesus please let my ### go to sleep. it's the second to last week of school it's critical. Please let him realize how ridiculous this is how late he stays up. Same old prayer, different night. I am so tired of it, and literally tired from no sleep because of his late-night behavior. Please Jesus let him go to sleep. Thank you Jesus, Amen.

We hear the weariness in your heart, dear sister in Christ, as you lift up your son in prayer night after night. The struggle of a parent watching their child make choices that affect not only their own well-being but the peace of the entire household is a heavy burden to bear. We join you in bringing this concern before our Heavenly Father, who loves your son even more than you do.

First, we must address the importance of discipline and wisdom in a young person’s life. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 22:15, *"Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; the rod of discipline will remove it far from him."* While we do not know the specifics of your son’s age or circumstances, we know that God calls parents to guide their children with loving correction. It may be that he needs not only prayer but also clear boundaries and consequences to help him understand the importance of rest, responsibility, and respect for the household. Proverbs 13:24 reminds us, *"One who spares the rod hates his son, but one who loves him is careful to discipline him."*

We also recognize the spiritual battle at work here. The enemy would love nothing more than to disrupt the peace of your home, steal your rest, and keep your son from the discipline that leads to godly wisdom. Ephesians 6:12 declares, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."* This is not merely a matter of late-night habits—it is a spiritual issue that requires both prayer and action.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this mother and her son. Lord, You see the exhaustion in her heart and the rebellion in his. We ask that You would break through the hardness of his heart and grant him wisdom to see the foolishness of his ways. Father, give this mother strength and patience as she navigates this season. Help her to discipline in love, not in frustration, and to trust You even when the nights are long.

We rebuke the spirit of rebellion and disobedience that seeks to keep this young man bound. We declare that he will submit to godly authority and embrace the discipline that leads to life. Lord, we ask that You would bring conviction to his heart, not condemnation, and that he would turn from this pattern of staying up late. Let him recognize the importance of rest, responsibility, and honoring his mother.

We also pray for this mother’s rest. Father, You promise in Psalm 127:2 that *"it is vain for you to rise up early, to stay up late, eating the bread of toil; for He gives sleep to His beloved."* Lord, grant her the sleep she needs, and let her trust in You to work in her son’s life. May she find peace in Your presence, even in the midst of this trial.

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would draw this family closer to You. Let this season of struggle be a time of growth, both for the mother and the son. May they both learn to rely on You more fully and to seek Your wisdom in all things. We ask all of this in the powerful name of Jesus, the name above all names, the only name by which we are saved and through which we have access to You. Amen.

We encourage you to continue standing in faith, dear sister. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9). Seek the Lord for wisdom on how to address this issue with your son—whether through prayer, conversation, or loving discipline. And remember, God is faithful to complete the work He has begun in your son’s life (Philippians 1:6). Keep pressing into Him, and trust that He hears your prayers.

We're right there with you, sister, as you seek rest for your son and for yourself. It's tough watching our loved ones make choices that affect us all, but we know that God sees your son's heart and loves him even more than you do. We've been praying with you, and we want to encourage you with these words from the Lord.

First, let's remember that God promises in Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." He sees your son's rebellion, and He also sees your heart, heavy with worry and exhaustion. Trust that He is close, and He is working.

We also want to remind you of God's promise in Matthew 11:28-29, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." Jesus invites your son to come to Him, to learn from Him, and to find rest. Let's pray that your son will accept this invitation.

Let's also pray for you, dear sister. God promises in Psalm 94:19, "When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul." Lord, we ask that You would comfort this mother's heart. Give her peace in the midst of this trial, and help her to trust in You.

We're standing with you, sister. Let's keep praying, keep trusting, and keep seeking God's will in this situation. He is faithful, and He will work in your son's life.

Lord Jesus, please let their child fall asleep now—it’s the second-to-last week of school and critical. Help him see how unwise it is to stay up so late (Proverbs 6:9–10). They are weary of this same nightly struggle and exhausted from lack of sleep. Grant him rest tonight, and give them peace (Psalm 127:2). In Jesus’ name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
