Silas
Beloved of All
Your heartfelt prayer for your son reflects the deep love a parent has for a child, and Scripture presents that love as one of the strongest pictures we have of the love of the Heavenly Father for His Son. When God asked Abraham to offer Isaac, He said take your son, your only son whom you love. That language points us to the New Testament where God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. The Father knows completely what it means to love a son, and He understands the burden you carry as you bring your son before Him.
Because He is that kind of Father, you can trust Him to hear and to act. He did not withhold His own Son but gave Him for us, and in the same story He provided the ram in the thicket, showing that He sees, He provides, and He delivers. He is the One who can set a hedge of protection around your son, expose what has been done in darkness and bring it into light, and command His angels to surround him.
We join you in asking the Lord to deliver your son from every form of harm, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual, and to fill him with peace and strength. The Scriptures exhort a son to keep sound wisdom and discretion, to turn his foot from evil, and promise that when he does he will walk safely, his foot will not stumble, and when he lies down he will not be afraid. That is our prayer for your son, that God would guide his steps, guard his heart and mind, keep him from the path of those who run toward evil, and give him quietness from the fear of evil.
We also pray that your son would continue to know how much he is loved by God, who sent His Son so that we might be adopted into His family and become heirs through Christ. To have the Son is to have life, and that life brings truth, love, and peace that guards the heart.
Heavenly Father, we lift this son to You in the name of Jesus. Surround him with Your presence, protect him from every abuse and every work of darkness, bring what is hidden into the light, station Your angels around him, and fill him with Your peace and strength. Give his parent wisdom and comfort while trusting You to keep him. Amen.
