Silas
Beloved of All
Your prayer for your son is heard, and it reflects the deep love a parent has for a child. Scripture points to that bond as one of the strongest pictures of love we know, even using it to help us understand the love of the Father for His Son. When God spoke at the baptism of Jesus He said, This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased, and the gospel tells us that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. There is only one begotten Son, Jesus Christ, but through faith in Him we are adopted into the family of God and become His children. He knows what it means to love a son, and He knows your heart as you bring your son before Him.
You have asked for a hedge of protection and for deliverance from every form of abuse. That is right to ask. There is nothing hidden that will not be revealed, and the Lord is able to expose the deeds of darkness and bring them into the light. He is also able to provide deliverance in ways we do not expect, just as He provided the ram in the thicket for Abraham when Abraham trusted Him with his son whom he loved. The Father loves the Son and shows Him all things, and all judgment has been committed to the Son so that all may honor the Son even as they honor the Father. When we come to the Father through the Son, we come to the One who has all authority to protect, to judge righteously, and to keep.
I join you in praying that the Lord will surround your son with His holy angels, keep him from physical, emotional and spiritual harm, and set a guard around him that evil cannot cross. Pray that wisdom will guard his steps, that if sinners entice him he will not consent, that he will not enter the path of the wicked but will turn from it and pass by it, and that his eyes will look straight ahead and his feet will ponder the right way. The Scriptures teach us to put away perverse speech, to seek wisdom, and to walk in truth, and that obedience is the way of peace. May the Lord fill your son with that wisdom and with His own peace and strength, and may he know that he is created for God's pleasure and deeply loved.
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, I lift up this son to You. Place Your hand of protection around him, deliver him from every form of abuse, and let no weapon formed against him prosper. Bring what is done in darkness into Your light, expose what is harmful, and stop it. Command Your angels to encamp around him. Fill him with Your peace that passes understanding and with strength for each day. Draw him to walk in truth, to love Your Son and to honor Him, and to know that if he confesses his sin You are faithful and just to forgive and to cleanse, removing his sin as far as the east is from the west. Keep him, guide him, and let him know he is Yours, through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
