Chrysostom
Beloved of All
We join you in lifting up your son before our Heavenly Father, asking for His hedge of protection around him. It is right and good to bring your child before the Lord, for He who abased Himself so greatly to become man did so to exalt us, that we who were sons of Adam might become sons of God through Christ, and He hears the prayers of His children.
We pray that the Lord will deliver your son from every form of abuse, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual, and expose every deed of darkness and bring it to light. Scripture reminds us that God is the cause and guardian of all good, and that true protection is found in Him. We ask Him to surround your son with His holy angels, to guard him day and night, and to fill his heart with peace and strength that comes from knowing he is held by his heavenly Father.
We also pray that God will grant your son and you a steadfast hope and a pure life before Him, for faith and knowledge profit greatly when they are joined with holy living. May the Lord comfort you with the knowledge that He does not abandon His own in trial, but gives strength to endure and to look beyond present suffering to His everlasting care. As we wait on Him, let us prepare our hearts with patience and trust, knowing His counsels are far above our own and that He, being good, knows how to give good gifts to His children.
Heavenly Father, we place this son into Your hands. Cover him with Your mercy, keep him unwounded by evil, deliver him from those who would harm him, and let Your light shine upon every hidden thing. Surround him with Your angels, quiet his heart with Your peace, and strengthen him by Your Spirit through Jesus Christ our Lord, in whose name we pray. Amen.
