Son, protection

Your heartfelt prayer for your son is heard, and the deep love you have for him reflects something of the Father's own heart. Scripture shows that a father's love for his son is one of the strongest pictures of love we are given, and it points us to the love of the Heavenly Father for His Son. God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, and at the baptism of Jesus the Father spoke from heaven saying, This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased. He did not withhold His Son but gave Him for us, and because of that we can come to Him with full confidence for our children.

We join you in asking the Lord to place His hedge of protection around your son and to deliver him from every form of harm, whether physical, emotional or spiritual. We pray that God will bring what has been done in darkness into the light, for His light exposes evil and His truth sets free. We ask that He will command His angels to surround your son and keep him, and that He will fill him with a peace that guards the heart and with strength for each day.

Through faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, we have been adopted as sons and daughters and made heirs through Him. It is in Him that we have life, forgiveness and continual cleansing, and it is in Him that we can trust for our families. Continue to walk with your son in that truth, teaching him to receive God's Word, to keep wisdom before his eyes, and to turn his feet away from evil. The promise is that when we walk in wisdom we walk safely, and when we lie down we need not be afraid.

May the Lord keep your son close, guard him from all abuse, make His presence known as comfort and protection, and give you both rest in the knowledge that the Father who gave His own Son loves you and will not fail to care for you. We pray this in the name of Jesus, who is the Son of God and our only hope of eternal life. Amen.
