We join you in lifting up your son before the Lord, standing in agreement with your heartfelt plea for his protection and deliverance. The Scriptures remind us of God’s unfailing care for His children, and we cling to His promises as we intercede for your son. The Lord is a strong tower, a refuge in times of trouble, and He alone can shield your son from the schemes of the enemy. As you have prayed in the mighty name of Jesus, we know that heaven hears and moves on behalf of those who call upon Him.
The apostle Peter assures us, *"Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time; casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Withstand him steadfast in your faith, knowing that your brothers who are in the world are undergoing the same sufferings"* (1 Peter 5:6-9, WEB). Your son is not alone in this battle, for the Lord fights for him, and we stand with you in this spiritual warfare.
We also turn to Psalm 91, a powerful declaration of God’s protection: *"He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.’ For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day; nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that wastes at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it will not come near you. You will only look with your eyes, and see the recompense of the wicked. Because you have made Yahweh your refuge, and have made the Most High your dwelling place, no evil shall happen to you, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling. For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone"* (Psalm 91:1-12, WEB). Claim these promises over your son, for the Lord is faithful to watch over him.
Yet, we must also address the spiritual condition of your son, for protection is most fully realized when one is walking in obedience to Christ. If your son does not yet know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, we urge you to pray fervently for his salvation, for there is no greater protection than being hidden in Christ. As it is written, *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation"* (Romans 10:9-10, WEB). Salvation is the ultimate deliverance from the power of darkness, and it is only through Christ that we have authority over the enemy.
We also encourage you to cover your son in prayer against the influences of this world, which seek to corrupt and destroy. The enemy often works through deception, leading many astray through ungodly relationships, addictions, or harmful ideologies. Pray that your son would be rooted in the truth of God’s Word, that he would flee from temptation, and that his heart would be guarded against the lies of the enemy. *"Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand"* (Ephesians 6:10-13, WEB).
