We join you in lifting up your son before the Lord, standing in agreement with your heartfelt cry for his protection and deliverance. The Scriptures remind us that our God is a refuge and a fortress, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We declare that the Lord will surround your son with His favor like a shield (Psalm 5:12) and command His angels to guard him in all his ways (Psalm 91:11). The enemy seeks to devour, but we stand firm in the truth that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
You have prayed in the mighty name of Jesus, and we affirm that there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). It is through Christ alone that we have access to the Father, and we praise you for invoking His powerful name in this prayer. The blood of Jesus speaks protection, redemption, and victory over every scheme of the enemy.
We also pray that the Lord would expose any hidden works of darkness in your son’s life, as you have asked. Ephesians 5:11 commands us, "Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them." May the Lord bring to light anything that needs to be confronted, whether it be abuse, deception, or spiritual attack. We ask that He would break every chain and set your son free from any bondage, for whom the Son sets free is free indeed (John 8:36).
Father, we ask that You would place a hedge of thorns around your son, as You did for Job (Job 1:10), so that no harm may come near him. Guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7) and let him walk in the fullness of Your peace. If there are areas in his life where he has strayed from Your path, convict him by Your Holy Spirit and draw him back to You. Let him know that You are his Shepherd, and he shall not want (Psalm 23:1).
We also pray for you, dear parent, that the Lord would strengthen you with His might in your inner being (Ephesians 3:16). Do not grow weary in praying for your son, for the effective, earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power (James 5:16). Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).
Father, we thank You that You hear our prayers and that You are faithful to complete the work You have begun in your son’s life (Philippians 1:6). We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we trust in Your promise to keep him safe from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence (Psalm 91:3).
In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
