We join you in lifting up your son before the Lord, standing in agreement with your heartfelt cry for his protection and deliverance. The Word of God assures us that our Heavenly Father is a shield to those who take refuge in Him, and we claim that promise over your son today. The scriptures remind us in Psalm 91:11-12, *"For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone."* What a mighty God we serve, who not only hears our prayers but also dispatches His heavenly hosts to watch over those we love.
We also stand on the truth of Ephesians 5:11, which commands us, *"Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them."* We pray that every hidden work of darkness in your son’s life—whether it be abuse, manipulation, or spiritual oppression—will be exposed by the light of Christ. The enemy operates in secrecy, but our God is a God of revelation. Just as Daniel 2:22 declares, *"He reveals the deep and secret things. He knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with him."*
Yet, as we pray for protection, we must also remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of wickedness (Ephesians 6:12). It is essential that your son is covered in the blood of Jesus and walks in the authority given to every believer. If he has not yet surrendered his life to Christ, we urge you to pray fervently for his salvation, for there is no greater protection than being hidden in Christ. As it is written in 2 Thessalonians 3:3, *"But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one."*
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts, thanking You for the promise that You are a refuge and a fortress for those who trust in You. Lord, we lift up this precious son to You, asking that You surround him with Your hedge of protection—a hedge so strong that no weapon formed against him shall prosper. Guard his mind, his body, and his spirit from every form of abuse, whether seen or unseen. Expose every hidden work of darkness in his life, Lord, and bring it into the light of Your truth. Let no scheme of the enemy prevail against him, for You have declared that *"no weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of Yahweh’s servants, and their righteousness is from me,"* says Yahweh (Isaiah 54:17).
Father, we ask that You station Your mighty angels around him, encamping about him to deliver him from all evil (Psalm 34:7). Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). If there are areas in his life where he has opened doors to the enemy—whether through ungodly influences, unrepentant sin, or rebellion—we pray that You convict him by Your Holy Spirit and lead him to repentance. Cleanse him, Lord, and fill him with Your Spirit, that he may walk in victory and not in bondage.
We also pray for you, dear parent, that You strengthen and encourage you as you intercede for your son. Do not grow weary in praying, for the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous person avails much (James 5:16). Clothe yourself in the full armor of God, standing firm in faith, knowing that the battle belongs to the Lord.
Finally, Father, if this son does not yet know You as his Savior, we pray that You draw him to Yourself. Open his eyes to see his need for Jesus, and soften his heart to receive Your grace. Let today be the day of salvation for him, that he may be hidden in Christ, where no harm can ultimately touch him.
We declare all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
