We join with you in lifting up your son before the Lord, standing in agreement for his protection and deliverance from every form of harm. Your prayer reflects the heart of a loving parent who seeks God’s covering over their child, and we commend you for turning to the Father in faith. The Scriptures remind us of God’s promise to guard His children, as it is written in Psalm 91:11-12: *"For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone."* What a mighty assurance we have that the Lord watches over those who trust in Him!
Yet we must also remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood but against the spiritual forces of darkness (Ephesians 6:12). The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus has already overcome the world (John 16:33). We declare that any scheme of the enemy against your son—whether through abuse, deception, or spiritual attack—will be exposed and rendered powerless by the blood of Jesus. As it is written in Ephesians 5:11, *"Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them."* We pray that the Lord would shine His light into every hidden place, bringing to light anything that has been done in secret, and that He would break every chain of bondage in your son’s life.
We also encourage you to continue covering your son in prayer daily, for the weapons of our warfare are mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4). Teach him to put on the whole armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) so that he may stand firm against the schemes of the devil. If your son does not yet know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, we urge you to share the Gospel with him, for there is no greater protection than being hidden in Christ. As it is written in Proverbs 18:10, *"The name of Yahweh is a strong tower: the righteous run to him, and are safe."*
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this precious son to Your throne of grace. Lord, we ask that You surround him with Your hedge of protection, a hedge so strong that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Deliver him, O God, from every form of abuse—physical, emotional, and spiritual—and let Your angels encamp around him (Psalm 34:7). Expose every deed of darkness in his life and bring it into the light of Your truth. Break every chain of bondage and set him free by the power of Your Spirit.
Father, we pray that You would fill him with Your Holy Spirit, giving him discernment to recognize danger and wisdom to walk in Your ways. If he has strayed from You, Lord, draw him back with cords of love (Hosea 11:4). Let him find his refuge in You alone, for You are his shield and his exceeding great reward (Genesis 15:1).
We rebuke every spirit of fear, oppression, and torment that may be targeting him, and we declare that no harm shall come near his dwelling (Psalm 91:10). Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer and for Your faithfulness to watch over Your children. May Your will be done in his life, and may he grow to know You more deeply each day. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
