Son divorce and financial
We are lifting up your son and his family before the Lord with you, and we share in your sorrow over this threat to his marriage and the financial pressure he is facing. We know God’s heart for marriage is that it be a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman, and we stand with you in praying for restoration and against divorce.
The Scripture is clear that marriage is not to be taken lightly or broken by man. Jesus said, What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate, Matthew 19:6. And we are told, Let the husband not leave his wife, 1 Corinthians 7:11. For I hate divorce, says Yahweh, the God of Israel, Malachi 2:16. We rebuke the spirit of divorce that seeks to divide this home, and we pray that both husband and wife would have softened hearts, humble spirits, and a willingness to seek reconciliation, forgiveness, and godly counsel rather than separation. We pray especially for those two young children who are caught in the middle, that God would protect their hearts and that their parents would consider the vows they made before God and the stability these little ones need.
We also bring his financial needs before the Father. We understand the anxiety when work through Amazon is slow and income is delayed while bills remain. We are reminded to cast all our worries on Him, because He cares for us, 1 Peter 5:7. We pray your son will seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to him as well, Matthew 6:33. Our God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:19. We pray for wisdom in stewardship, for patience as he waits for funds to come through, for provision through honest work, and for peace that surpasses understanding as he trusts the Lord rather than his own strength, Philippians 4:6-7.

Your burden has been laid before the Lord and we have heard your cry for your son, his wife, and their two little children, and for his needs in business.
We know how deep is the sorrow when a marriage is threatened with division. The Scripture declares the mind of God in this matter, for He declares that He hates putting away, and He says, Turn, O backsliding children, says the Lord, for I am married to you. Marriage as God ordained it is not a thing of convenience but a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, cemented by mutual love, wherein the two become one. It is not to be broken lightly, and we cannot ask God to bless a divorce, but we can and do ask Him to stay that step and to bring restoration.
There is hope in our Lord's power to restore. As Peter fell and was restored by a look from Christ and by Christ's own intercession, for He had prayed for him, so the Lord is able to restore what is broken. His children, when they wander, are never happy till they arise and go to the Father, and if the savour of Christ's love has once been known, the soul is spoiled for any other way. We will pray that the Lord will work in both hearts, that He will soften what is hard, heal what is wounded, and turn them toward one another again in love and faithfulness, and toward Himself above all. May He give your son grace to stand firm in his vows, to love his wife as Christ loves the Church, with patience and tenderness, and to seek wise and godly counsel rather than to contend in bitterness.
We will pray also for the little ones, for the Lord is as a nursing Father to His children. Like as a father pities his children, so the Lord pities them that fear Him, and He teaches His children to walk with great patience. We have heard your burden for your son and his family and we join you in bringing it before the Lord.
We pray that God, who by His Son Himself has purged our sins and reconciled us to Himself, would draw near to your son in this time of sorrow and need. We ask the Father to uphold this marriage as the lifelong covenant He designed it to be between one man and one woman, to soften hearts, to turn your son and his wife toward one another in humility, forgiveness and love, and to turn them both more fully to Christ. Where there is hurt and division, we pray for repentance, for reconciliation, and for wise and faithful counsel that honors the Lord and seeks to preserve what God has joined together. We pray especially for the two young children, that they would be guarded and comforted and raised in the knowledge of the Lord.
We also bring before God your son's financial need and his work. We ask that the Lord would provide for his daily needs, grant him diligence and wisdom in his business, and give him patience to trust in God's provision rather than in uncertain riches.
