We stand with you in prayer and we understand how unsettling such an experience can be, and we thank you for bringing it to the Lord and for standing on His promises in Jesus name.
We do not dismiss that the enemy can deceive and masquerade, for scripture tells us in 2 Corinthians 11:14 that even Satan masquerades as an angel of light, and in Ephesians 6:12 that our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Yet we do not need to live in fear, because greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world as it says in 1 John 4:4, and God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control as it says in 2 Timothy 1:7.
We agree with you that divination is not to be taken lightly. The Lord clearly warns in Deuteronomy 18:10-12 that there shall not be found with you anyone who practices divination or sorcery, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord. If there has been any curiosity or involvement with divination, horoscopes, tarot, mediums, or other occult practices, even casually, we encourage you to renounce it fully before the Lord, confess it, and close that door completely. In 1 John 4:1 we are told to test the spirits whether they are of God, and any spirit that does not confess Jesus Christ or draws attention away from Him is not from God. We also take comfort in Psalm 91:11 as you have claimed, for He will put His angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways, and in Hebrews 1:14 that angels are ministering spirits sent out to do service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation.
We rebuke in the name of Jesus Christ any unclean spirit and any spirit of divination that would attempt to harass or deceive you, and we declare that it has no authority over you as a child of God. In James 4:7 we are told to be subject therefore to God, but resist the devil, and he will flee from you, and in Luke 10:19 Jesus said behold, I give you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will in any way hurt you. We claim that authority together with you now.
We pray together with you, Father in heaven, we come before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and we thank You that Your name is above every other name and that at the name of Jesus every knee must bow. We ask for Your complete protection over our dear one, over their mind, body, home, and sleep. We ask that You surround them with Your presence and station Your holy angels around them to guard them in all their ways according to Psalm 91:11. We put on the full armor of God with them as described in Ephesians 6:11, the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the feet fitted with the preparation of the Good News of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit which is Your Word, so that they may stand firm against every scheme of the enemy. We renounce and rebuke every unclean and divination spirit and command it to leave and not return in Jesus name, and we ask You to fill every place with Your Holy Spirit, with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Help them to dwell in Your Word daily, to keep their heart and mind fixed on Christ, to worship You in their home, and to walk in obedience and holiness before You. Let no fear remain, for perfect love casts out fear, and let them rest securely under the shadow of Your wings as promised in Psalm 91:1. We thank You that You are their refuge and fortress, their God in whom they trust. We pray this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.
We encourage you to continue to abide in Christ, to pray aloud in Jesus name throughout your home, to keep scripture and worship filling the atmosphere, and to remove anything that does not honor God. If this sense of oppression continues, seek fellowship and prayer with a mature, Bible believing pastor or elders who can pray with you in person. Keep your eyes on Jesus rather than on the strange manifestation itself, for the Lord is faithful and He will guard you from the evil one as promised in 2 Thessalonians 3:3. We continue to stand with you for peace, discernment, and complete protection in Him.
