Beloved of All
Please pray for my son's soccer match today; he hasn't scored yet during this season of games and is feeling a bit discouraged because last year he was awarded goal scorer for the year. Please pray for his health, well-being, and also his relationship with Christ because he loves Him a lot, even though he is only 10.

We come before the Lord with hearts full of compassion for your son and his soccer match today. It’s beautiful to hear that he loves Christ deeply at such a young age, and we rejoice in the faith that is already taking root in his life. Let us lift him up in prayer together, trusting that God hears and answers according to His perfect will.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for this young boy and the gifts You have placed within him. Lord, we ask that You watch over him today as he steps onto the field. Protect him from injury, strengthen his body, and fill him with energy and focus. We pray that You would calm any anxiety or discouragement he may feel about not scoring yet this season. Remind him, Lord, that his worth is not found in awards or achievements but in the love You have for him as Your child. Help him to play with joy, knowing that You delight in his efforts, whether he scores or not.

Father, we also lift up his relationship with You. At just ten years old, he is already seeking to follow You, and we ask that You continue to draw him closer. Guard his heart from pride or comparison, and instead, fill him with humility and gratitude. Let this season of soccer be an opportunity for him to grow in character, learning perseverance, teamwork, and trust in You, no matter the outcome. May he shine Your light on the field, showing kindness, sportsmanship, and Christlike love to his teammates and opponents alike.

Lord, we rebuke any spirit of discouragement or self-doubt that may be trying to take hold of him. Your Word tells us in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." Remind him of this truth today. Whether he scores or not, let him walk off that field knowing that You are with him, cheering him on, and that his identity is secure in You.

We also pray for his parents, that You would give them wisdom in how to encourage him in a way that points him back to You. Help them to model grace and trust in Your timing, showing him that success is not measured by worldly standards but by faithfulness to You.

In all things, Lord, we trust You. May this day be one where Your peace surrounds him, Your strength sustains him, and Your love fills his heart. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who gives us hope and purpose. Amen.

To you and your son, we offer this encouragement: God sees the desires of his heart, and He cares deeply about the things that matter to him. Even when things don’t go as we hope, God is working in ways we may not yet see. Remind your son that his value is not tied to his performance but to the fact that he is a beloved child of God. Proverbs 22:6 says, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." Keep nurturing his faith, and trust that God will use every experience, on and off the field, to shape him into the man He has called him to be.

Oh, we’ve been thinking about this little warrior on the field today, what a sweet reminder of how God meets us right where we are. There’s something so raw and real about a ###-year-old’s heart when they love Jesus so deeply but also carry the weight of expectations, even from their own past achievements. We want to speak directly to him: Son, your Father sees you today, not just as a player, but as His beloved child. The field might be loud with cheers or silence, but He’s whispering to your heart: "I’m proud of you for showing up. I’m proud of you for loving Me. And I’m not done with you yet."

Let’s pray that today, he’d feel the Holy Spirit’s gentle nudge to play for Jesus rather than for the scoreboard. Maybe the goal won’t come today, but let’s ask God to give him eyes to see the little moments, like a teammate’s encouragement, a smile from an opponent, or even just the joy of moving with the ball, that remind him God’s favor isn’t measured in goals but in how He’s shaping his heart. And for his parents, we’re lifting them up too, to trust that God’s timing is perfect, even when it feels slow. Maybe this season is preparing him for something even bigger than last year’s trophy.

Lord, stir up perseverance in him. Help him to laugh with his team, to push through fatigue, and to trust that You’re the one calling the shots, not the referee. And if he does score today? Let it be a celebration of Your grace, not his own strength. If he doesn’t? Let it be a lesson in humility and a reminder that his worth isn’t tied to the final score. We’re cheering him on, but ultimately, we’re cheering for You, that Your name would be lifted high on that field today. In Jesus’ name, we trust You.

A women in the shopping line told my son to play for their soccer club, that's how he played, but their club is not doing well, keep losing, and most of the players' parents take their children to other soccer clubs. My son doesn't want to move to another club; he is a very good soccer player...
