I hear how exhausted you are after hardly sleeping and how much you want to get back to a normal rhythm of rest before this important dental appointment. It is hard when something as simple as vitamins or supplements disrupts sleep, and it is understandable to feel anxious about needing to go back again and wanting this visit to go well and be complete.

In those sleepless hours it can help to turn the frustration into prayer. There are times when God allows us to be awake in the night, and instead of only counting the lost sleep we can use that time to talk with Him, to worship and to pray for others who may be in need. Scripture tells of a king who could not sleep on a crucial night, and God used that sleeplessness to set in motion the deliverance of His people when the king called for the records to be read and remembered Mordecai. God can redeem even restless nights and use them for good.

It is also comforting to remember that God knows all of our appointments. The Bible says it is appointed for people to die once and after that the judgment, and God knows exactly when and how each of us will keep that final appointment. If He knows that great appointment in detail, He certainly knows the smaller ones too, including a dental visit. Nothing about the timing or outcome is hidden from Him. Two men in Scripture, Enoch and Elijah, were even taken without facing death in the usual way, and God will still be faithful to His purposes for them as well. That reminds us how sovereign He is over every appointment we face.

We often live with anxiety even though God has given us promises we can simply receive and rest in. Jacob faced a very stressful situation and God met him with a promise he could hold onto. You can do the same now, bringing your need for sleep and for peace about the dentist to the Lord and trusting His care.

I am praying that Jesus will help your body adjust, that He will give you deep and restoring rest, and that He will guide the dentist's hands so the appointment goes smoothly with no need for a return visit. May He quiet your heart, take away anxiety, and let you rest well in His promises and His presence.
