Psalms 103:5 says Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagles's. And in Isaiah 40:31 it says But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles: they shall run and not be weary : and they shall walk and not faint.  Both verses have us in comparison to an eagle not a chicken.  Eagles are able to realize that when they are too old they will go to the highest mountain peak, pull out all their feathers, and break off their beaks with the rocks on the mountain. There in their naked and beak-less state they will not eat much and wait a few days.  Then their feathers start to return and the beak also and the eagle is able to be itself again.  We, too as humans need to realize that we have become old.  We need to renew our bodies and our spirits so we can soar like an eagle.  You need to renew your mind and remember that we have the mind of Christ.  Some days we are on top of the mountain and on other days the mountain is on top of us.  We need to stay sharp and in the presence of God so we stay on the mountain top.  Amen.
