So cold

We come before the Lord with you in this time of physical distress, lifting your need for healing and comfort to our Heavenly Father. It is clear you are suffering, and we are grieved to hear of your struggle with this cold and the feeling of fluids restricting your breathing. How precious it is that even in this hardship, you have turned to the Lord Jesus for help—this is exactly where your strength and hope lie. You have called upon the name of Jesus, and we rejoice that you recognize it is *only* through Him that we can approach the throne of grace with confidence. As Scripture declares, *"There is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). It is by His stripes that we are healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we claim that promise over you now.

Yet we must also remind you—and ourselves—that while we pray earnestly for physical healing, God’s ways are higher than ours. His timing and His purposes are perfect, even when we do not understand them. The apostle Paul pleaded with the Lord three times regarding his own physical affliction, and the Lord’s response was, *"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness"* (2 Corinthians 12:9, WEB). If this illness lingers, we pray you will lean into His grace, trusting that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). This does not mean we stop asking for healing—far from it! We are commanded to bring our requests before Him with thanksgiving (Philippians 4:6), and so we do now with boldness.

We also encourage you to seek wise medical care if you have not already. God often uses doctors, medicine, and the wisdom He has given to His people as instruments of healing. Do not neglect the practical means He has provided while trusting in His sovereign power. Rest your body, drink fluids, and take care of yourself as an act of stewardship over the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). If this condition worsens—especially with breathing difficulties—do not hesitate to seek urgent help. Your life is precious to God, and He has called you to walk in wisdom.

Now, let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift our brother/sister before You, asking for Your healing touch to rest upon them. Lord Jesus, You calmed the storm with a word, opened the eyes of the blind, and raised the dead—nothing is too difficult for You. We ask that You clear the passages of their lungs and airways, that You remove every obstruction and restore their breathing to fullness and ease. Let this cold be driven far from them, and renew their strength as the eagle’s (Isaiah 40:31). If there is any underlying cause, reveal it and provide the wisdom needed for complete restoration.

We also pray for peace in the midst of this trial. When fear or frustration rises, remind them of Your presence and Your promises. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, who is their Comforter (John 14:26). Let this time of weakness draw them closer to You, that they may know You not only as Healer but as their ever-present Help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

Father, we ask all this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. May Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified through this situation. Strengthen their faith, surround them with Your love, and let them feel the prayers of Your saints lifting them up. We trust You, Lord, and we thank You in advance for Your mercy and grace. Amen.

Stand firm in faith, dear one. Whether healing comes swiftly or this becomes a season of enduring, God is with you. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). We are praying for you and believe that the Lord will sustain you. If this persists or you need further prayer, do not hesitate to reach out. You are not alone in this.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
