I had prayer requests over what looked like food poisoning - vomiting and diarhea. The next afternoon I went to ER, spent almost all afternoon there being medicated with IV. I had a good night sleep, and received an anti-diarhea medication as it hasn't stopped completely. I have a condition called Reactive Hypoglecemia, meaning my blood sugar can fall quickly if I don't eat well, which is the case now during this recovery. Please pray as I'm home I will know what to do, rest, and eat appropriety, and don't feel dizzy with Hypoglicemia. One of the prayers I received this weekend mentioned "In the weakness and vulnerability of the moment, show Yourself strong." I'm grateful for all prayers during this health problem. THank you.

We come before the Lord with gratitude for His mercy in bringing you through this difficult time of illness and for the medical care that provided relief. Father, we lift up this dear one to You, asking for complete restoration and wisdom as they continue to recover. The body is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and we trust in Your design for healing and strength.

Lord, we ask that You guide them in knowing what to eat and when, especially with the challenge of reactive hypoglycemia. Provide nourishment that will stabilize their blood sugar and restore their strength without causing further distress. Give them discernment to listen to their body and to follow the advice of medical professionals, all while leaning on Your wisdom. "Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God" (1 Corinthians 10:31). May every choice they make honor You and contribute to their healing.

We pray against dizziness and weakness, asking that You sustain their energy and clarity. When our bodies fail, Your strength is made perfect in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). We declare that in this vulnerability, You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). May they feel Your peace guarding their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

We also lift up the concern of reactive hypoglycemia. Lord, grant them discipline and knowledge to manage this condition in a way that aligns with Your will for their health. Help them to see this as an opportunity to trust You more deeply, knowing that You are their Provider and Healer. "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds" (Psalm 147:3).

Father, we rebuke any spirit of fear or anxiety that may try to take hold during this time. You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare that this season of weakness will not define them but will instead draw them closer to You. May they experience Your nearness and find comfort in Your promises.

We are grateful for the prayers that have already been lifted up on their behalf and for the reminder that even in weakness, You show Yourself strong. Continue to surround them with Your love, peace, and healing. May they rest in the assurance that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).

Heavenly Father, we pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. It is through His name alone that we have access to You, and it is by His stripes that we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). We trust in Your goodness and Your perfect plan for this dear one’s life. Amen.

Thank you for letting us know how things unfolded, it helps us pray with you more personally through this next stretch.

We’re grateful the IV treatment and a solid night’s sleep gave you some relief, and we understand just how tricky the days of recovery can feel when you’re managing reactive hypoglycemia on top of an upset system. It makes sense that you’d be watchful over every bit of food and rest right now, and that the dizziness brings its own kind of vulnerability.

Something we often see in illness is that slow, steady progress can be hard to appreciate when you’re still feeling weak. The body often heals in small increments that are easy to overlook, and temporary setbacks can feel larger than they really are. If things don’t improve as quickly as you hope, that doesn’t mean you’re not healing. You’re in the middle of the recovery, not stuck.

For the immediate need, we’d simply encourage you to lean into what’s worked before, keeping some gentle, easy-to-digest food near you that has steadied your blood sugar in the past, something that won’t irritate your stomach. And if the dizziness hangs on or worsens, please check back in with your doctor; it’s wise to let them track it alongside you.

We’re praying that in this quiet, tired space, you’ll sense the nearness of God. Not as a lesson to learn, but as a steady presence holding you up while you rest.

Lord Jesus, quiet their body, calm the churning, and give their system the stability it needs. Guard their blood sugar from sharp drops, settle the dizziness, and grant clear instincts about when to eat and when to rest. Lift the anxiety that can hover around physical weakness, and replace it with a deep knowledge that they are not alone. Thank you for the good sleep you’ve already given, please continue to restore strength gently and completely. Amen.

How quickly the frame can be brought low, and how slowly it gathers strength again. Do not wonder that recovery should be slow, the weakened limbs only regain their power by degrees, and in this pilgrimage you are taught that every step is dependent upon the sustaining hand of the Lord. It is no small mercy that you were carried through that long afternoon of medication and that sleep was granted to your spent body. Yet now you find yourself in a place where natural strength is utterly spent, and a troublesome condition threatens to pull you down into faintness and dizziness. This is the very classroom where the Holy Spirit teaches us to cease from our own strugglings and lean wholly upon the Beloved.

You heard that word spoken in prayer: “In the weakness and vulnerability of the moment, show Yourself strong.” Lay hold of that word with both hands, for it is the watchword of your recovery. Out of weakness the Lord makes His children strong, not always by suddenly flooding them with physical vigour, but by causing His strength to be perfected in their deep necessity. When the blood sugar threatens to fall and the heart grows faint, the strength of the Lord is to sit still before Him, trusting that He will become your arm every morning. The vision of your own helplessness is not a mark of spiritual decline but a sure preparation for the display of His covenant faithfulness. To those who have no might, He increases strength.

You ask that you may know what to do, to rest and eat appropriately. This is a prayer most pleasing to Him, for it reveals a dependent spirit. Remember that the least things about Christ are healing. The very leaves of the Tree of Life are for the healing of the nations; so every morsel of provision and every quiet hour of repose have healing virtue in them because they come from His hand. Do not look for some grand, extraordinary manifestation alone, but in each small obedient act, a spoonful of broth taken in faith, a quarter-hour of undisturbed stillness, acknowledge that the Lord has a fresh claim upon your affection. There is a quiet strength which is far removed from fussy weakness; it is the composure of a soul that waits only upon God.

Let the body take its time to be restored. As you grow a little stronger, and a little stronger, you will trace the steps of the Great Physician. Until then, let your very weakness be a plea to His generous heart. The man sick of the palsy could do nothing, yet his utter powerlessness became his argument, and he found strength in feebleness at the feet of Jesus. You are laid low upon that same couch of dependence. The dizziness that alarms you, the nausea that lingers, these are the palpable signs of a nature that groans, but they are not beyond the reach of His healing leaves. Calvary is the place for the healing balm; look to Christ, and the forgiveness that sweetens every mercy will also steady your reeling frame and restore you, as far as wisdom ordains, to full health.

Above all, do not let this season of decline pass without learning the secret of it: where your natural strength ends, the glory of the Lord’s strength begins. When you are utterly a guilty, weak, and helpless worm, then you fall upon Christ’s kind arms. That is no miserable place to be. The joy of the Lord shall be your strength, and the Sun of Righteousness has already risen with healing in His wings. The day will come when yonder in the celestial city, no inhabitant will say, “I am sick,” but until then these very trials send us anew to the healing streams that flow from the throne. Go forward then, resting, eating, waiting, and expecting, for the Lord is in the midst of you, and you shall yet renew your strength.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You have prayed for strength in weakness, and that is a prayer God loves to answer. The apostle Paul likewise entreated the Lord three times to remove a thorn from his flesh, and the answer came: “My grace is sufficient for thee, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” When our bodies fail and our own resources sink, then is Christ’s power most clearly seen, not by removing every trouble, but by carrying us through it. Receive this present illness as a reminder that we brought nothing into this world and carry nothing out; health and vigor are not our own, but gifts entrusted for a season. Do not murmur, but give thanks alike for comfort and affliction, for both serve the soul’s true health.

Now, as for the care of your body, you must indeed eat prudently. Since you are prone to sudden falls in blood sugar, take nourishment suited to your condition, neither overindulging nor neglecting the body’s true needs. Yet let not anxiety over food disturb your heart. Remember that the rest of God’s people is not found in a perfectly managed diet but in a trusting spirit. The tempter would tie your mind to constant dread of dizziness; instead, lift your eyes to the God who knows your frame. Eat with thanksgiving, rest as you are able, and do not fear. If you feel faint, recall that even our Lord in His humanity knew weariness and hunger, yet He committed Himself to the Father.

That word spoken over you, “In weakness and vulnerability, show Yourself strong,” is good and right. Lean upon it. For when you have nothing left but to cling to Christ, you are nearer to the rest that remains for the people of God than when you imagine yourself secure. Cease striving as if your recovery depended solely on your own wisdom; ask the Lord for a quiet mind. Sleep when sleep is needed; let the body mend. Even Peter in his frailty stumbled, yet afterward was restored. So be not dismayed by lingering symptoms. The same grace that sustained the martyrs upholds you on a sickbed.

I rejoice that you are grateful for the prayers of the brethren. That gratitude itself is a sign that the Spirit is active, even in physical weakness. Continue to ask their intercession, for love one for another is a strong medicine. And if you must still eat sparingly and watch your blood, do it without complaint, offering this small discipline to God who sees in secret. He will not let you be tried beyond what you can bear, but with the trial will provide the way through, even if that way lies through repeated small acts of care and rest. The end of all our labor is to enter that heavenly rest where there is no more sickness or fainting. Until then, let infirmity teach you patience, and patience proven character, that your hope may be full.

Recovery can feel like a halt, especially when you must manage something as delicate as reactive hypoglycemia. You mentioned the prayer spoken over you, that in the weakness and vulnerability of the moment, God would show Himself strong. That is exactly where true wisdom begins. The fears and uncertainties that flare up when your body is weakened are not signs of failure; they are an invitation to lean on a wisdom that is not your own.

Wisdom is the principal thing. Not just knowledge about blood sugar levels, but the practical, moment-by-moment guidance that comes from above. When you are unsure what to eat or when to rest, wisdom is calling out, not in a frantic shout, but in the quiet insistence of the Spirit. She is better than rubies, and all that you truly need is found in her. The fear of the Lord, a reverent dependence that admits you do not have the next step in yourself, is where that wisdom begins.

The wisdom of this world would push you to worry, to strive, to live in a mental fog of what-ifs. That kind of wisdom is earthly and comes to nothing. It breeds only more vexation. But the wisdom that comes from God is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated. It will not produce the dizziness of anxiety; it will settle your heart and then direct your choices. In Jesus Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, and He is near to you now. He does not despise the simple need to know when to take a little food or when to lie still. He delights to give that understanding.

Let this slow recovery teach you to love wisdom. She will preserve you. She dwells with prudence, not with reckless haste, but with careful, life-giving steps. As you rest and learn to eat appropriately, you are not just managing a condition. You are walking out the truth that God’s strength is made perfect in weakness. The world may forget the poor wise man who delivered a city, but the Lord who sees your quiet obedience will keep you. May He grant you an understanding heart, clear direction for each hour, and the peace that surpasses all wisdom of men. He who began this work in you will carry it to completion.
