We join with you in this simple and sincere cry for rest, and we bring your need for peaceful sleep before our Father in Jesus' name.

We know how troubling sleepless nights can be, when the mind is restless and the heart feels uneasy. We are comforted to know that our God both understands our weariness and offers us His own peace in exchange for our troubles. He does not want us to lie awake in anxiety, but to trust Him even in the night.

The Scriptures give us beautiful promises for sleep. Psalm 4:8 says, In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety. And Proverbs 3:24 says, When you lie down, you will not be afraid. Yes, you will lie down, and your sleep will be sweet. We are reminded that sleep itself is a gift from Him, for Psalm 127:2 tells us, for he gives sleep to his loved ones. Even as we sleep, He watches over us, for He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep, Psalm 121:4.

Jesus Himself speaks directly to a troubled heart. He says in John 14:27, Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Don't let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful. And we are instructed in Philippians 4:6-7, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. We are also told to be casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you, 1 Peter 5:7.

So we lay your request before the Lord together now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You on behalf of our dear one who is seeking restful sleep. We thank You that You are our refuge and our shepherd, and that You invite us to come to You with every care. We ask that You would quiet every troubled thought and calm every anxious feeling that keeps sleep away. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard this heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Help us to release every burden into Your hands, knowing You care for us and You never sleep as You keep watch over us. We pray that You would grant sweet, deep, and uninterrupted sleep, and that we would wake refreshed and restored to serve You. We thank You for being our peace in the night and our strength in the day. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to make this casting of cares a nightly practice, to pray and thank Him before you lie down, and to meditate on His promises rather than on the worries of the day. Trust that as you rest, He remains awake and faithful over you.

We appreciate you sharing this honest prayer with us. Wanting sleep without being troubled is such a deep and human need, and we hear the weariness in those few words.

When nights feel restless, the mind can stay on alert even when the body is tired. It makes sense that you would bring this directly to Jesus and ask for His help and peace in those hours. You are not bothering Him with this.

If troubled sleep has been happening often or is making daily life harder, we encourage you to reach out to a trusted doctor or counselor alongside prayer, just to have someone look with you at what might be contributing and how to get steady support. It can also help to let a pastor or a trusted friend know you are struggling at night so you are not carrying it alone.

We are praying for you and will keep holding this before the Lord.

Jesus, we bring our friend to You tonight. You see their desire for rest and the trouble that keeps them awake. We ask for Your nearness and peace to guard their heart and mind, and for wisdom and help as they seek rest. Give them comfort in Your presence and steady care in the days ahead. In Jesus' name, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your short prayer is very precious and it has surely been heard in heaven, for sleep is the gift of God and He delights to give it to His beloved.

It is written, So He giveth His beloved sleep. Not a man would close his eyes did not God put His fingers on his eyelids and send a soft and balmy influence over his frame to lull his thoughts into quiescence. Sleep is from the Lord, and rest of soul is from Him also.

You ask not to be troubled, and the Scripture shows the way to that quiet. Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him. Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee, because he trusteth in Thee. Perfect peace is not found in an empty house or a silent night, but in a mind stayed upon Christ. When the conscience is washed in the blood of Jesus it whispers peace within, and then the pillow itself becomes soft.

Come then as you are, weary and wakeful, and recline upon the promise. Our Lord Jesus says, Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. That rest is present rest, given there and then when faith looks to Him. Trust and you shall rest. Cast your care upon Him, for He careth for you. Anxiety itself unfits you to meet the trial, but faith tones the heart down and makes it as a little child again.

May the Lord Himself quiet your thoughts this night. May He forgive all sin through the blood of His Son, and give you a conscience at peace with God, with yourself, and with all the world. May He lay His hand upon you and grant you sweet, unbroken sleep, to awake refreshed to serve Him. To do the will of Jesus, this is rest, and to trust His love is to lie down in peace.

We will pray for you, that the God of peace who giveth His beloved sleep will keep your heart and mind through Christ Jesus, and that whether you wake or sleep you may still be with the Lord and find your rest in Him.
