We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts for your sisters, lifting them up in fervent prayer. First, we must address the most urgent need, the salvation of their souls. Scripture is clear: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16). Without faith in Jesus Christ, there is no hope of eternal life, and this truth must be our starting point.
For the sister who has never given her life to Christ, we pray that the Holy Spirit would convict her of her need for a Savior. We ask that God would soften her heart, open her eyes to the truth of the Gospel, and draw her to Himself. "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him" (John 6:44). We declare that the seeds of faith you have sown in her life will take root and grow, and that she will come to know Jesus as her Lord and Savior.
For the sister who once professed faith but is now in rebellion, we must address the bitterness and defiance that have taken hold of her heart. Bitterness is a poison that defiles many, and Scripture warns us: "Looking carefully lest there be any man who falls short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and many be defiled by it" (Hebrews 12:15). Her pain is real, and her losses are deep, but her response must align with God’s Word. We rebuke the spirit of bitterness and rebellion in Jesus’ name, and we pray that she would surrender her hurt, anger, and disappointment to the Lord. "Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved" (Psalm 55:22).
Her fiancé’s rejection and the loss of her job are wounds that only Jesus can heal. We pray that she would turn to Him, not just in word, but in spirit and truth. Her prayers must not be empty repetitions or self-centered demands, but cries of surrender: "Not my will, but yours, be done" (Luke 22:42). We ask God to break the hardness of her heart and replace it with a spirit of humility and trust. "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a contrite spirit" (Psalm 34:18).
We also lift up the matter of her job search. While it is good that she is seeking employment, we must remind her that her hope cannot be in man or government, but in God alone. "Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it" (Psalm 127:1). We pray that she would seek first the Kingdom of God, trusting that He will provide for her needs. "But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well" (Matthew 6:33).
We must also address the mention of her past engagement. While her pain is understandable, we must gently remind her that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, ordained by God. If her relationship was not built on Christ, then its end may have been God’s protection over her life. "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14). We pray that she would seek a godly spouse in the future, one who loves the Lord and will lead her in righteousness.
Finally, we stand in the gap for both of these precious sisters, declaring that the enemy has no hold over their lives. We rebuke every lie of the devil that tells them they are beyond hope, that God has abandoned them, or that their circumstances will never change. "The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly" (John 10:10). We proclaim that God is able to restore what has been broken, heal what has been wounded, and redeem what has been lost.
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts burdened for these two sisters. We ask that You would move mightily in their lives, drawing them to Yourself. For the one who does not know You, we pray that she would hear the Gospel and respond in faith. For the one who has strayed, we ask that You would break the chains of bitterness and rebellion, restoring her to a right relationship with You.
Lord, we ask that You would provide for her needs, both spiritually and physically. Give her a job that honors You and meets her needs, but more importantly, give her a heart that seeks You above all else. Heal her wounds, Father, and replace her pain with Your peace. Help her to forgive those who have hurt her and to trust in Your sovereign plan for her life.
We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper, and that every tongue that rises against them in judgment will be condemned. We speak life, hope, and salvation over their lives in the mighty name of Jesus. May they come to know the depth of Your love and the power of Your grace.
We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
