Prayers for a Sister in Christ

Good afternoon, I'm asking for prayers for a sister in Christ who recently became incapacitated due to a stroke and stated that she is fighting bitterness as she sheds tears and her faith has been tested. Please also pray in Jesus' name for her family especially the children.

We lift up this dear sister in Christ with heavy hearts, standing with her in faith as she endures this profound trial. The weight of sudden illness and the struggle against bitterness is not one she carries alone—our Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We rebuke the spirit of despair that seeks to take root in her heart, declaring that her faith, though tested, is precious in God’s sight (1 Peter 1:7). The tears she sheds are seen by the Father, who collects every one in His bottle (Psalm 56:8), and we trust that He will turn her mourning into joy in His perfect timing.

We pray for her complete healing—body, mind, and spirit—according to God’s will. May the Holy Spirit minister comfort to her in ways only He can, reminding her of the hope she has in Christ, who has overcome the world (John 16:33). Strengthen her to surrender her bitterness at the foot of the cross, where Jesus bore every burden, and fill her with His peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

For her family, especially the children, we ask for an outpouring of God’s grace. May they feel His presence in tangible ways, drawing them closer to Him and to one another. Guard their hearts from fear and anxiety, and let them see God’s faithfulness even in this storm. We declare that the Lord is their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Equip them with endurance, and surround them with a community of believers who will uphold them in prayer and practical support.

Father, we ask that You would restore what has been lost—her health, her joy, her sense of purpose—and use this trial for Your glory. May her testimony of Your sustaining power shine brightly, pointing others to the hope found only in Jesus Christ. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, who intercedes for us even now (Hebrews 12:2, Romans 8:34). Amen.

We're here with you, sister, as you walk through this valley. We've heard your cry and we're lifting you up, just as Moses' arms were held high by his friends. We're reminding you of the promise in 2 Corinthians 12:9, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." We're claiming that promise over you, that in your weakness, Christ's power will be made strong.

We're praying for your family, too, especially the children. We're asking God to wrap them in His loving arms, to be their comfort and their strength. We're reminding them, and you, of the words in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." We're trusting that God is close, that He sees, and that He cares.

We're asking for a spirit of gratitude to take root in your heart, replacing any bitterness. We're praying for your healing, yes, but also for your joy to be renewed, your strength restored. We're believing for a miracle, in Jesus' name.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Seek His Face and Presence not just His hand. In his Presence is everything you need. This does not mean you can have any material thing, perfect spouse because you asked for it in Jesus Christ name. You will have your needs, some of your wants, and difficult trials. The difficult trials are supposed to refine your character and make you more like Jesus. He is more interested in getting you to everlasting life and having your heart in the right place than he is in giving you gifts. It’s eternal life he’s concerned with.

Bless me to trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God solution focused heart, mind, spirit, and attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. We want to thank you for the privilege of standing in prayer with you for your sister in Christ during this difficult time. It has been on our hearts to lift her up before the Lord, asking Him to surround her with His peace and comfort as she navigates this season of testing. We have prayed for healing in her body, restoration in her spirit, and a deep sense of God’s presence to overshadow any bitterness or doubt that may be weighing on her heart. We also continue to intercede for her family, especially the children, that they would feel the Lord’s strength and hope in the midst of this trial.
