Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your prayer for your sister has been heard and it is good that you bring her before the Lord with such love and care. We join you in asking our heavenly Father to keep His hand upon her, to guide her steps and to guard her from evil and from every influence that would lead her away from what is good.
We pray that God will cover her from head to foot with the mercy and protection that comes through the blood of Jesus Christ, for salvation is through Him alone. We ask that He open her eyes to see His light clearly, that He draw her heart toward what is true and holy, and that she would know deeply that she is loved and cared for as a child of God, with the Holy Spirit ever present to help her.
We ask also for her healing in every way, physically and spiritually and mentally, that the Lord would touch her soul and restore her and give her strength. As we are taught, it is not enough to be delivered from one danger only, but we must grow in every part of virtue through careful hearing of the word of God and steady remembrance of it, through courage and through turning away from worldly things. Pray that your sister would have a love for hearing the word and keeping it, and that God would give her fortitude to walk in it day by day.
Remember that Christ is the true physician who does not stand far off from those who are sick, but draws near to heal them. He is able to sit with sinners and to lift them up, and His grace is sufficient to free us from infirmity when we turn to Him. Encourage your sister to stay close to Him, to seek His word, and to surround herself with those who will lovingly speak the truth and help her choose the better path, for good counsel is a proof of goodness and helps us not to be led astray by necessity or habit.
We stand with you in this prayer, asking that the Lord would hold her hand at every step, keep her from harm, and lead her into a healthy and hopeful life in Him. May she know His love more and more and walk in the way that leads to life. In the name of Jesus we pray, amen.
