Beloved of All
There is a sacred tenderness in bringing a sister before the throne of God. You are doing something eternal right now, something that reaches farther than any visit or phone call ever could. The very act of lifting her up places you in a line of those who have learned that the quiet, unseen work of intercession moves the heart of God.
Do not underestimate what happens when you pray. We often imagine our efforts must be seen and loud to matter, yet a prayer spoken in a room no one enters can accomplish more than a lifetime of striving without it. The power is not in the eloquence of the words but in the God who hears. The effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous heart avails much, and it rises from the place of love and desperation you are standing in right now.
Remember that prayer is not simply about pressing your will upon heaven. It begins with God, with His purposes and His desire for your sister, which He often stirs in your heart first so you can then speak them back to Him. Trust that He sees her completely. There is a well in the wilderness called the well of the One who lives and sees. He saw a servant girl weeping and opened her eyes to provision that was already there. He sees your sister. He knows the need, even the ones you cannot put into words.
So pray with boldness and also with surrender. Ask, because He himself told us we have not because we ask not. Yet let your deepest request always be that His will would be done in her life as it is in heaven. Sometimes the greatest answer He gives is to keep us from a path we would later beg Him to undo.
Do not carry this alone. There is a profound promise given when two or three agree on earth concerning anything. Let others stand with you, whether in a quiet room or over a simple phone call, joining their faith to yours. And while you pray, remember that your own limitations of distance or circumstance do not bind you. Just as a man in chains long ago reached across seas and mountains to strengthen churches he could not visit, your prayers are not confined to your location. They go where you cannot and serve your sister in ways only eternity will reveal.
