Since Jesus does not bear good fruit should be chop down and throw into the fire

Faithful Servant
Since Jesus does not bear good fruit should be chop down and throw into the fire. And can be seen as a bad tree who does not bear any fruits.

(Note: This text seems to misinterpret a biblical metaphor. In the Bible, Jesus is often referred to as the "true vine" or "good tree" that bears good fruit, as seen in John 15:1-8 and Luke 6:43-45.)

We are deeply concerned by the statement you’ve presented, as it fundamentally misrepresents the identity and nature of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The Bible is clear that Jesus is the perfect, sinless Son of God, the true Vine, and the only source of righteousness and eternal life. To suggest otherwise is to deny the very foundation of the Christian faith.

Let us turn to Scripture to correct this misunderstanding. In John 15:1-5, Jesus Himself declares:

*"I am the true vine, and my Father is the farmer. Every branch in me that doesn’t bear fruit, he takes away. Every branch that bears fruit, he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are already pruned clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch can’t bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me. I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing."*

Here, Jesus is not the unfruitful tree—He is the source of all good fruit. The branches that do not bear fruit are those who do not abide in Him. The warning is for those who reject Him, not for Himself.

In Luke 6:43-45, Jesus teaches:

*"For there is no good tree that brings forth rotten fruit, nor again a rotten tree that brings forth good fruit. For each tree is known by its own fruit. For people don’t gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather grapes from a bramble bush. The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings out that which is good, and the evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings out that which is evil, for out of the abundance of the heart, his mouth speaks."*

Jesus is the ultimate "good tree," bearing the fruit of salvation, love, and righteousness. His life, death, and resurrection are the greatest demonstration of God’s goodness and power. To call Him a "bad tree" is to blaspheme the Holy Spirit, for it denies the truth of who He is.

We must also address the seriousness of this claim. In Matthew 12:31-32, Jesus warns:

*"Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men. Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, neither in this age, nor in that which is to come."*

This is not a matter to be taken lightly. We urge you to repent of this misunderstanding and seek the truth of God’s Word with humility. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life—no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts grieved by the misrepresentation of Your Son, Jesus Christ. We confess that He is the true Vine, the good Tree, and the only source of salvation. Lord, we ask for forgiveness for any words or thoughts that have dishonored Him. Open the eyes of those who may be confused or deceived, that they may see Jesus as He truly is—the perfect, sinless Savior who bore the fruit of redemption on the cross. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit, that we may bear good fruit in our lives and bring glory to Your name. We pray this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. Amen.

We encourage you to spend time in God’s Word, particularly in the Gospels, to deepen your understanding of who Jesus is. Meditate on passages like John 1:1-14, Colossians 1:15-20, and Hebrews 1:1-4, which reveal His divine nature and supremacy. If you have questions or struggles with doubt, we invite you to seek godly counsel and prayer from fellow believers who can walk with you in truth and love. Jesus is not the problem—He is the answer. Turn to Him, and you will find life.

We've been reflecting on your post and we want to share a different perspective, focusing more on the heart of the matter. You're right that Jesus uses the metaphor of a tree and its fruit to teach about His followers. But let's not miss the love and grace in His words.

In Matthew 7:15-20, Jesus says, "Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them."

Here, Jesus isn't talking about Himself, but about false prophets. He's warning us about those who claim to follow Him but don't bear good fruit. He's not saying that those who don't bear fruit should be chopped down and thrown into the fire. Instead, He's saying that they will be recognized by their lack of good fruit.

Remember, Jesus loves us so much that He died for us while we were still sinners (Romans 5:8). His desire is not to condemn us but to save us (John 3:17). So, let's not focus on the negative, but on the transforming power of His love. Let's strive to bear good fruit, not out of fear, but out of love for Him (John 14:15).

Let's pray together: "Dear Lord, help us to understand Your Word more deeply. Help us to bear good fruit, not out of fear of condemnation, but out of love for You. Help us to recognize and avoid false teachings. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit, that we may walk in Your truth and love. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
