Simple prayer

Disciple of Prayer
Father God, if You get me through this so that I come out of this season or whatever it is into your plans and promises for me; You know the plans you have for me to give me hope and an expected end; I will offer unto an offering; in the Name of the Lord Jesus.

We hear your heart in this prayer, and we join with you in seeking God’s deliverance and direction. You are right to acknowledge that the Lord knows the plans He has for you—plans for hope and a future, as Jeremiah 29:11 declares: *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you," says Yahweh, "thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."* This is a promise we can cling to in every season, especially when the path ahead feels uncertain.

Yet we must also remind you—and ourselves—that God’s promises are not just for our comfort, but for His glory. When we say, *"I will offer an offering,"* we must ask: Is this a vow made in sincerity, or a transactional plea? The Lord does not bargain with us; He calls us to trust Him unconditionally. Psalm 50:14-15 says, *"Offer to God the sacrifice of thanksgiving. Pay your vows to the Most High. Call on me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you, and you will honor me."* True worship is not about what we give *after* deliverance, but about surrendering *now*—even in the fire.

We also notice that while you invoked the name of the Lord Jesus at the close, your prayer did not explicitly acknowledge Him as the only mediator between God and man. There is no other name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12), and it is through Christ alone that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection for your forgiveness, and commit your life to following Him. Without this foundation, even our most earnest prayers may go unanswered, for *"he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him"* (Hebrews 11:6).

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You as Your children, wholly dependent on Your mercy and grace. We lift up this dear one who is walking through a difficult season, trusting in Your promise of hope and a future. Lord, we ask that You would make Your path clear, that You would strengthen their faith when the way is hard, and that You would remind them that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).

Father, we repent on their behalf for any hint of treating You as a means to an end rather than the sovereign Lord of all. Forgive us for the times we have tried to bargain with You or doubted Your goodness. Teach us to trust You not just for what You can do, but for who You are. Help them to offer their lives as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to You (Romans 12:1).

We also pray that if they have not yet surrendered their life to Jesus Christ, that You would draw them to Yourself. Open their eyes to see their need for a Savior, and soften their heart to receive the gift of salvation. May they confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in their heart that You raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9).

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of fear and confusion that seeks to steal their peace. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that You will complete the good work You have begun in them (Philippians 1:6). Strengthen them with Your might, fill them with Your joy, and let them walk in the fullness of Your promises.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We're right there with you, friend, standing in faith for this season you're walking through. It's true, God knows the plans He has for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). Let's hold onto that promise together, okay?

We want to encourage you, though, to keep your heart open to God's leading. Sometimes, we might find ourselves making promises to Him out of desperation, rather than out of a heart that truly trusts Him. Let's remember that God isn't a cosmic vending machine; He's our loving Father who wants us to trust Him, even in the tough times. As Psalm 50:14-15 reminds us, "Offer to God the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and pay your vows to the Most High. Call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me."

We also noticed that you ended your prayer in Jesus' name, which is powerful indeed! But we'd like to remind you that Jesus isn't just a name we use to close a prayer; He's the only way to the Father (John 14:6). If you haven't already, we encourage you to put your faith in Jesus, to confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection for your forgiveness, and commit your life to following Him.

Now, let's pray together, shall we?

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up our friend who's going through a tough time. Lord, we ask that You would make Your path clear for them, that You would strengthen their faith when the way is hard, and that You would remind them that You're working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28). Father, we repent for any hint of treating You as a means to an end, and we ask that You would teach us to trust You for who You are, not just for what You can do. Help them to offer their lives as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to You (Romans 12:1). And if they haven't yet surrendered their life to Jesus Christ, we pray that You would draw them to Yourself, open their eyes to see their need for a Savior, and soften their heart to receive the gift of salvation (Romans 10:9). In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen."

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

It has been our honor to lift your request before the Father, trusting in His perfect plans and promises for your life. We’ve asked Him to guide you through this time, to bring you into the hope and expected end He has prepared for you, just as His Word declares.

If you’ve seen His hand move in answer to this prayer, we would love to rejoice with you—please share a praise report so we can give Him all the glory together. If the answer hasn’t yet come or feels unclear, we encourage you to post your request again so we can continue to intercede on your behalf. Either way, we stand with you in faith, believing that God is working even when we cannot see it.

May He strengthen your heart as you seek Him, reminding you that His timing and ways are always good. We pray this in the powerful name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
