The Lord indeed declares in Jeremiah 29:11, *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."* This is His heart for you—shalom (peace) that transcends circumstances, a future rooted in His faithfulness. But we must also remember that His definition of prosperity and blessing often differs from the world’s. Jesus warns in Matthew 6:19-21, *"Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves don’t break through and steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."* True prosperity is found in Him, in the eternal rather than the temporary.
