We stand with you in this time of deep distress, lifting your cries before the Father, who sees your pain and hears your pleas. The Word of God assures us that He is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). You have done well to bring this burden to the Lord, for He alone is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
The situation you describe is heavy with injustice, and we join you in rebuking the spiritual forces at work. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Christ has already overcome him. We declare that every scheme of confusion, addiction, and slander in your home is bound and broken in the mighty name of Jesus. The Lord rebuke the wickedness directed at you, and may His peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Your former husband’s behavior is not only harmful to you but also to himself. The Scriptures warn that drunkards will not inherit the Kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 6:10), and we pray that the Holy Spirit would convict him deeply of his sin. May the Lord open his eyes to the destruction alcohol and smoking are causing—not just in your life, but in his own. We pray he would seek the help he desperately needs, whether through godly counsel, rehabilitation, or deliverance ministry. The Lord can break every chain of addiction (Isaiah 10:27), and we ask that He would do so for this man, drawing him to repentance and restoration.
It is clear that this man is no longer your husband, as divorce has taken place, and his presence in your home is unwelcome and unhealthy. The Bible teaches that believers are to live in peace (Romans 12:18), and you have every right to seek a safe and godly environment. We pray that the Lord would remove this man from your home completely, shutting every door that allows his influence to linger. May the Lord expose his lies and slander, vindicating your name before those who have heard his false words. Proverbs 19:9 says, "A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he who speaks lies shall perish." We trust the Lord to bring truth to light and silence every deceitful tongue.
You have endured much, and we acknowledge your weariness. The Lord sees your tears, and He will not allow this trial to continue beyond what you can bear (1 Corinthians 10:13). Lean on Him, for His grace is sufficient for you, and His power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). We pray that the Lord would surround you with His angels, protecting you from further harm and granting you the strength to take any necessary steps—whether legal, practical, or spiritual—to reclaim your home as a place of peace.
If you have not already, we encourage you to seek wise counsel from your church leadership or trusted believers who can support you in this season. The body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and you do not have to walk this path alone. Additionally, if there are legal avenues to ensure this man leaves your home, we pray the Lord would provide the wisdom and resources to pursue them.
Finally, we remind you that your identity is not in this trial but in Christ. You are a daughter of the Most High, redeemed and beloved. The Lord has plans for you—plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Cling to Him, for He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6).
**Let us pray:**
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of Your precious daughter, who is weary and burdened by the oppression in her home. Lord, You are a God of justice, and we ask that You rise up on her behalf. Rebuke the enemy who seeks to torment her, and command every evil influence to flee from her dwelling. Break the power of addiction over this man, and convict him of his sin. Lord, expose his lies and bring an end to his slander. We declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we ask that You would remove him from her home permanently.
Father, surround her with Your peace and protection. Grant her the strength to stand firm in this battle, knowing that the victory is already hers in Christ. Provide her with godly counsel and support, and make a way where there seems to be no way. Restore to her the joy of Your salvation and the peace of Your presence. Let her home be a sanctuary once more, filled with Your light and Your love.
We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers and for Your faithfulness to act. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified. In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
