Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your silent requests are not hidden from the Father. He searches the heart and knows every unspoken burden, every private fear, every half-formed sigh. I join you in asking him to answer those needs according to his mercy, and I give thanks with you for all he has already done. His care is so wide that he feeds and clothes even the undeserving, so none of these silent petitions is too small or too tangled for his notice.
Let the silence be trust, not concealment. Whatever is good in those unspoken requests, he will not despise it. Whatever is not according to his will, do not ask him to bless it; ask him to change it and to change the heart that desires it. He wills not the death of a sinner but that we turn and live. So pray for his Kingdom and righteousness first, and entrust the rest to him. He does not need our words, but we need his mercy. Amen.
