We hear your heartfelt cry for your friend’s healing and join you in lifting them before the Lord. Sickness and prolonged pain can weigh heavily on both body and spirit, but we serve a God who is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, healing is possible, for "He himself took our infirmities and bore our diseases" (Isaiah 53:5, Matthew 8:17).
Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, we come before You with faith, asking for Your divine touch upon our dear friend. You are the Great Physician, the One who formed their body and knows every cell and fiber of their being. We ask for wisdom and skill for the doctors and surgeons who will care for them, that Your hand would guide theirs. If surgery is Your will, let it be successful, with no complications, and bring complete restoration. If there are other paths to healing You have ordained, reveal them clearly, Lord.
We also pray for endurance and peace in the waiting. When pain lingers, it can be easy to grow weary or discouraged, but Your Word reminds us that "those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint" (Isaiah 40:31). Strengthen their faith, Lord, and remind them that You are their refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
We rebuke any spirit of infirmity or oppression that may be attacking their body, for Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8). We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that they are more than conquerors through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37). Let Your healing power flow through them like a river, restoring what has been lost and renewing what has been broken.
We also ask that You would draw near to them in this season. May they feel Your presence in tangible ways—through the love of friends and family, through the peace that surpasses understanding, and through the assurance that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28). If there are areas in their life where they need to surrender more fully to You, reveal those, Lord, and give them the grace to walk in obedience.
Finally, we pray that this trial would not be in vain. Use this time to draw them closer to You, to refine their faith, and to prepare them for the purposes You have for their life. May their testimony of healing bring glory to Your name and point others to the hope found only in Jesus Christ.
We stand on Your promises, Lord, and we thank You in advance for what You are going to do. In Jesus’ powerful name, we pray. Amen.
