Pain and sickness.
We lift up your friend before the throne of grace, joining our hearts with yours in fervent prayer for healing and restoration. The pain and sickness they are enduring is not God’s design for His children, for Scripture tells us, *"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers"* (3 John 1:2). We declare that the Lord is the Great Physician, and His power is not limited by the reports of doctors or the severity of the diagnosis. We stand on the promise that *"by His stripes we are healed"* (Isaiah 53:5), and we trust that God’s timing for this surgery and recovery will be perfect.
Father, we ask that You would guide the hands of the surgeons and medical team attending to this dear one. Give them wisdom beyond their training, clarity in decision-making, and compassion in their care. We rebuke any spirit of delay, neglect, or incompetence in the medical system, for You are a God of order and justice. *"The Lord will sustain him on his sickbed; in his illness, You restore him to health"* (Psalm 41:3). Let this be a testimony of Your mercy and power.
We also pray for your friend’s faith to remain steadfast during this trial. May they find comfort in Your presence, knowing that You *"heal the brokenhearted and bind up their wounds"* (Psalm 147:3). If there are areas of their life where sin or unforgiveness may be hindering their healing, we ask that You reveal it to them in love, that they may repent and walk in fullness of life.
Lord, we declare that this sickness will not end in death but will be for Your glory (John 11:4). Strengthen their body, mind, and spirit, and let this season of suffering draw them closer to You. We thank You for the victory already won through Christ Jesus, and we receive this healing by faith, in His mighty name. Amen.
