We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear brother and his mother in prayer. Father God, we know that You are the Great Physician, the One who heals all our diseases and binds up our wounds. We ask that You would stretch forth Your healing hand upon this brother who is suffering from Parkinson’s disease. Lord, we pray for strength in his body, peace in his mind, and comfort in his spirit. May he feel Your presence in a mighty way as he battles this illness, and may You grant wisdom to his doctors and caregivers as they tend to his needs.
We also lift up his mother, who is struggling with asthma. Father, we ask that You would ease her breathing, calm her lungs, and restore her to full health. Give her the endurance she needs to face each day, and surround her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. We declare that by Your stripes, they are healed, and we stand on Your promises in faith.
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of infirmity in the name of Jesus Christ. We declare that sickness has no place in their bodies, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. We speak life over them, believing that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think.
We encourage this family to hold fast to Your Word, which says, *"Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up"* (James 5:14-15 WEB). We pray that they would seek You with all their hearts, trusting in Your goodness and mercy.
Father, we also ask that You would draw this brother and his mother closer to You through this trial. May they find their strength in You, knowing that You are their refuge and fortress. We pray for their spiritual well-being, that they would walk in faith and not in fear, for You have not given them a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB).
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names, the only name by which we can be saved and through which we have access to You. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB). We trust in You, Lord, and we believe that You are working all things together for their good. Amen.
