Sick mom and sister

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Hello, I am coming here to ask for prayers for my family. My mom and sister are both very sick. I am prayer that God can heal them and their minds and give them strength to continue fighting to live because my mom has expressed she is very tired. Please pray for God to restore her strength to continue living for her children and for herself. Please also pray for me I do not know what I will do without my family. I often feel alone thinking if I lose them. Please pray for my strength and guidance in the world, as well I am young and still navigating life.

The Ministry of Gratitude
True gratitude for Christ’s healing moves us to serve Him immediately in everyday acts of love.
Sickness in the Mansion
God allows suffering to push us toward a better life and calls us to trust His healing power.
Carried by Four
Some souls need the combined faith and effort of others to be brought to Christ for healing and forgiveness.
We have heard your heart and we join with you in bringing your mom, your sister, and yourself before the throne of grace. We understand the heaviness of watching those you love suffer, and the fear and loneliness that comes when you wonder what life would be without them, especially while you are still young and navigating so much. We want you to know you are not alone, and we are standing with you in prayer.

We serve a God who sees your mother's weariness and your sister's sickness, and who also sees your own anxious thoughts. Scripture reminds us that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1. He is the one who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. Psalm 103:3. When we are faint and have no might, He gives power to the faint and to him who has no might he increases strength. Isaiah 40:29. To your mom who has said she is very tired, we claim the promise, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10. And for you, as you feel alone and uncertain about the future, we are reminded to not be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and He will not abandon you.

We also gently want to share something important we noticed in your request. You asked for prayer to God, but you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. And there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. This means our prayers are heard because Jesus died for our sins and rose again, making a way for us to be reconciled to God. If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9. We encourage you to put your trust fully in Jesus, to call upon His name not only for healing for your family but for your own salvation and daily guidance.

So together we pray. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we lift up this dear mother and sister to You. You know their bodies, their minds, and the sickness they are enduring. We ask for Your healing hand to touch them, to restore their health and renew their minds and spirits. Lord, for this mother who is tired and weary, breathe new strength into her, lift her discouragement, and give her hope and a will to live for herself and for her children. Comfort her and let her feel Your presence. We also lift up this young one who is carrying this burden. Lord, take away the spirit of fear and loneliness. Remind them that You will never leave them nor forsake them. Give them strength, wisdom, and guidance as they navigate life. Guard their heart with Your peace that passes all understanding. Help them to cast all their anxiety on You because You care for them. We ask that You draw this whole family closer to You through this trial, that they would know You as healer, sustainer, and Father. We pray for Your will to be done and for Your name to be glorified in their lives. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to seek the Lord daily through prayer and reading His Word, to cast your cares upon Him, and to lean on a local Bible believing church family who can support you in person. Keep trusting that the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. James 5:15. We are continuing to pray with you for complete restoration and for God's peace to fill your home.

We were so glad you wrote to us, even though we can hear how heavy this feels. Watching both your mom and your sister be sick, hearing your mom say she is tired, and carrying the fear of being alone at a young age is a lot to hold.

It makes sense you feel alone and unsure what the future holds. When illness lingers in a family, everyone feels it. Your love for your mom and sister comes through clearly, and your desire for them to have strength to keep going is a beautiful reflection of that love. It is also understandable that you are asking for strength and guidance for yourself as you navigate so much while still young.

We want to encourage you not to carry this by yourself. Is there one steady, trusted person you can stay close to right now, a pastor, family member, school counselor, or older friend from church who knows your family and can walk with you week by week. Staying connected to your mom and sister's care team and asking questions together can also help you feel less helpless, and we encourage you to keep their doctors involved alongside your prayers.

We are praying for you and for them.

Father, in Jesus' name we lift this family to You. Please bring comfort and renewed strength to this mom and sister in their sickness, and surround this young one with Your presence, guidance, and caring people close by. Give them all peace for today and wisdom for each next step. Amen.

Your burden has been heard and is carried with you before the throne of grace with much tenderness. To watch those you love most suffer in body and in mind, and to hear a mother say she is very tired, is a deep and heavy sorrow, and to feel young and alone in the world while navigating such grief is a loneliness that the Lord does not overlook.

Know that the Savior Himself entered into loneliness when as Man He most needed human sympathy and was left alone. He understands the quiet ache of feeling alone in a family where sorrow has settled, and the soul conflict where faith must fight for very existence. You are not unseen in this. Solitude to Him was often the cause of strength, for He was strong in public ministry because of hours spent in secret wrestling with God on the lone mountainside, and so too He will meet you in secret prayer and make your solitude a place of strength.

We join you in praying for your dear mother and your sister. We ask the Lord, whose strength is inexhaustible while all human strength in time spends itself and fails, to lay His healing hand upon them. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ, and even the leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations. May He who binds up the broken heart and heals the wounded be pleased to restore their bodies, to lift the weariness from your mother's mind, and to renew her strength to continue to live for His glory and for the good of her children. When all our own strength fails, our strength is to sit still while God arises and becomes our arm every morning and our salvation in the time of trouble.

We pray also for you, who feels the fear of loss and the weight of going forward without guidance. The promise stands, they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. This strength is faithfully promised and will be assuredly performed, for the Lord Himself says, I will strengthen them in the Lord. It is God Himself who will impart strength to His chosen, and therefore it will be fitly infused and wisely balanced. When there remains no strength in you, nor any ability of any kind, then fling yourself upon the Divine strength and lay hold upon it. He gives power to the faint, and to those who have no might He increases strength.

May the Lord grant you this renewing. May He give you wisdom beyond your years, steady guidance for each step, and the comfort of His near presence so that you do not face this trial alone. May He teach you to wait upon Him daily in prayer and in His Word, and to find that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. Cast your guilty, weak and helpless soul upon Christ, for He is strength and righteousness to all who trust Him.

Let us pray together. O Father of mercies, look in compassion upon this mother and this sister in their sickness. Thou who hast risen with healing in Thy wings, touch their bodies and their minds and restore them according to Thy gracious will. Lift weariness from this mother and breathe new strength into her. And Lord, remember this dear young soul who feels alone and afraid. Let him take hold of Thy strength as revealed in Jesus Christ. Renew his strength as he waits upon Thee, guide his path, and let him know that though others may leave him alone, Thou wilt never leave nor forsake him. Give pardon, healing, and peace through the blood of Jesus, and let this family taste of the leaves which are for the healing of the nations. In the name of Jesus our Healer and our Strength we ask it, Amen.
