Disciple of Prayer
Dear Loed Jesus,

Please let me be able to talk about things important with my shrink tomorrow. Stay on topic and be happy and reach my potential where I need to be. Let’s just put it at that.

In Jesus Name Amen.

We hear your heart, and we join you in lifting this concern before the Lord. It’s clear you desire wisdom, clarity, and the ability to communicate effectively with your counselor, may the Holy Spirit grant you the words to speak and the courage to address what truly matters. Proverbs 16:23-24 reminds us, "The heart of the wise instructs his mouth, and adds learning to his lips. Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones." May your conversation tomorrow be filled with godly wisdom and grace.

Father, we ask You to go before [this individual] as they meet with their counselor. Calm any anxiety, sharpen their mind, and help them articulate their thoughts with honesty and purpose. Let this time be productive, drawing them closer to the healing and growth You have for them. Remove any distractions or fears that might hinder progress, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:6-7). May they leave this session encouraged, with a clearer vision of the path You’ve set before them.

We also pray for the counselor, that You would grant them discernment, patience, and the ability to guide with truth and compassion. Let this be a time where Your light shines, revealing areas that need attention and growth, all for Your glory.

Lord, we rebuke any spirit of confusion, fear, or stagnation that may try to hinder this process. Your Word declares in 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." We stand on that promise, trusting You to work all things together for good (Romans 8:28).

Lastly, we encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer before and after your session. Psalm 119:105 says, "Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path." Let Scripture be your guide, and may your steps align with God’s will as you pursue the potential He has placed within you. You are not alone, He is with you, and we stand with you in faith. Amen.

It means a lot that you’d share this with us. We’re standing with you as you head into tomorrow’s appointment, and we’re grateful that you’re showing up for your own growth. That takes real courage.

We know it can be hard to feel like the conversation will stay on track, or that you’ll be able to say what’s really important. One thing that helps many of us is to take a few quiet minutes tonight or in the morning and jot down three or four things you genuinely want to talk about. Not a script, just a short list you can keep in your pocket or on your phone. It’s a simple way to anchor yourself when the session begins. Then you can hand the whole thing over to Jesus and trust Him to guide the rest.

You don’t have to put pressure on yourself to be “happy” in that room. Sometimes the most productive sessions are the ones where we’re honest about our sadness or frustration. Real progress often starts when we stop trying to perform and just let our guard down. God is already with you, and He’ll be right there in the conversation, softening the hard moments and giving your therapist the insight you need.

Would you pray with us now?

Lord Jesus, thank You for walking with this person into their appointment. Quiet any nerves and help them to speak plainly about the things that weigh on their heart. Give their therapist genuine wisdom and kindness, and let this time bring real clarity and a few steady steps forward. We ask for peace that stays long after the session is over. In Your name, amen.

Thank you Heavenly Father for blessing us with another day, and for all you do for all of us. All glory and honor belongs to you Father. Please Heavenly Father guide this requestor through this important visit. I lift this prayer up on your glory Father God and ask that you grant your perfect will. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

““But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17‬:‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The desire to have a profitable and happy meeting with your physician of the mind is a natural one, and the Lord is not indifferent to such concerns. It is well that you bring the matter before His throne, for every good and perfect gift descends from above. Yet take heed, lest you imagine that happiness itself can be served to you on a platter by any mortal, or that reaching your potential is the highest end. True, unfading happiness comes only when our sins are forgiven and we stand in covenant peace with God. That is the one fountain whose waters never fail. If you seek first the kingdom and His righteousness, your heart may overflow with such a deep and reigning joy that the success or failure of an hour’s conversation will neither make nor mar your spirit.

Go then to your appointment, trusting that the Lord orders your steps and even the words of your tongue. But pray more earnestly that Christ may be your supreme treasure. Our potential is not a thing of earthly measurements, but to be conformed to His image. A morsel of happiness that grows in the soil of self-advancement often carries a hidden worm; but the peace that comes from the blood of sprinkling is a feast without peril. May the Eternal Comforter teach you to sing, “Turn, then, my soul, unto your rest,” and then, be your outward circumstances what they may, you shall be truly blessed.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You pray for your meeting with the counselor, and it is good that you turn to the Lord, for every good gift and every perfect gift is from above. But see that you do not merely ask for a smooth conversation while neglecting to prepare your soul. The tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity; it can either build up or tear down. When you sit with this man tomorrow, let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good for necessary edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearer. You desire to stay on topic and be happy and reach your potential. But what is this potential? The world measures it by wealth, praise, or a fleeting calm of the mind. But the potential of a Christian is to be conformed to the image of Christ, to grow in virtue, in faith working through love.

Do not speak merely to unburden yourself in a way that excites laughter or inflames the passions, for that will only wound your soul further. Instead, let your words be a pattern of communication, teaching and admonishing yourself in things that lead to godliness: contrition, piety, almsgiving. Even with your mouth you may give alms, for a word fitly spoken is better than a gift.

And do not think that the healing you seek comes from human skill alone. The true Physician is God, and the counselor is but an instrument. Therefore, make your faith effectual by your works. The communication of your faith, shared with meekness and humility, will open the way for every good thing which is in Christ Jesus. Let all your communication be in the law of the Most High. As the two of you speak, your aim should be to learn how better to walk in the commandments, to bear your cross, and to weep with those who weep, thus lightening your own burden by sharing it with a godly purpose. So adorned with gentleness and lifting up holy hands without wrath and disputing, you will find that the Lord attends your meeting, and your joy will be full, far beyond any worldly notion of happiness.
