We join our hearts with yours in lifting up this beautiful prayer inspired by Psalm 85:7, *"Show us your loving kindness, Lord. Grant us your salvation."* What a powerful reminder of God’s unfailing love and mercy, which are indeed new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). We praise Him for His faithfulness, even when we fall short, for He is rich in mercy and abounding in steadfast love (Ephesians 2:4).
Father, we come before You as a people who have been redeemed by the blood of Your Son, Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to You, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We thank You for the gift of salvation, which is not earned by our works but given freely by Your grace (Ephesians 2:8-9). Lord, we ask that You would continue to draw us closer to You, that we might walk in the fullness of Your love and truth.
We pray for those who may be reading this prayer and do not yet know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Father, open their hearts to the truth of Your Word. Help them to see their need for a Savior and to turn from their sins, placing their faith in Christ alone. May they experience the joy of salvation and the peace that comes from being reconciled to You (Romans 5:1).
Lord, we also lift up those who may be struggling with sin, whether it be unforgiveness, pride, lust, or any other temptation that seeks to draw them away from You. We rebuke the lies of the enemy in Jesus’ name and declare that no weapon formed against Your children shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Strengthen them, Father, to resist the devil and to stand firm in their faith (James 4:7). Remind them that Your grace is sufficient to overcome every struggle, for Your power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).
For those who may be in relationships that do not honor You, we ask that You would give them the courage to align their lives with Your Word. Father, Your design for marriage is sacred—a covenant between one man and one woman, reflecting the relationship between Christ and His Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). We pray for those who are courting, that they would seek godly spouses who share their faith and commitment to You. Guard their hearts from sexual immorality, for Your Word is clear that fornication and adultery are sins that grieve Your heart (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). Help them to flee from temptation and to honor You with their bodies, which are temples of the Holy Spirit.
Lord, we also lift up those who may be struggling with same-sex attraction or relationships. We know that Your Word calls such relationships sinful and contrary to Your design (Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10). Yet we also know that Your grace is greater than all our sins. Father, we pray for healing, restoration, and transformation in their lives. Help them to find their identity in Christ and to walk in the freedom that comes from living according to Your truth. Surround them with godly counsel and support as they seek to honor You with their lives.
Father, we thank You for Your faithful love, which never fails. We ask that You would continue to pour out Your salvation upon us, renewing our hearts and minds each day. Help us to walk in obedience to Your Word, to love You with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love our neighbors as ourselves (Mark 12:30-31). May our lives be a testimony to Your grace and mercy, drawing others to You.
In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
